That requires effort and I highly doubt many have, as people asking for friends payments need reporting, but unfortunately those people don't take reading this kind of stuff serious, and that leads us to more threads of the same old crap and the same conclusion, people being people

Agreed I think if someone pays for an item via friends and family then they start a thread stating they got ripped off I think a automatic 30 says suspension should be in order . Maybe by then they will learn not to pay via friends and family

Rules and people being people aside. If somebody requests payment by friends and family just offer a 3% premium to keep it goods and services. If they say no then run like hell.

Even a week or two would get their attention as then they can sit and watch, while the rest of us point and laugh...........just kidding as I feel bad as the common theme is people selling things and asking for this payment to save 3%, but really seems that when they ask for this type of payment, it's some sort of a scam and the items never get shipped.

People are not supposed to be asking for payment as "friends & family" in the first place, end of story.
Also, how hard is it to figure the 3% into the price when you sell an item? If someone offers you a price below what you want to sell your item for, simply decline their offer, or try to negotiate a different price.......

That doesn't help, at all. The only way people are going to stop asking is if they get reported, period.

haha, this guy won a roller from me on ebay back in December. He requested to cancel his purchase after the auction was over. I just offered it to the next highest bidder. kinda glad I didn't bother with the hassle.

he uses the same name on ebay. Shows him to be from Williamstown New Jersey.

I know this is a few days old but you guys that got ripped off should be contacting the district attorneys office or local police department in his area. The amount of money it looks like he stole is enough for it to be a pretty serious crime and they will go knock on his door.

none of this would happen if people would simply read and follow the rules about gifting or sending payments as friends or family, but you know what you can never fix stupid.

Well I guess we will see more people crying when they are scammed by agreeing to send funds as friends and family
