Default Need some advice.

I recently sold some new and slightly used mounted wheels and tires. Used being a few laps of use to see how treaded tires worked on my track that runs slicks.

Package was shipped and was delivered Wednesday. Today he(Tech Rookie with 5 post) messages and says I forgotten to mention that the wheels or wheel were stripped and asked for a refund.

So I immediately start to message him back saying sorry and yes Ill issue a refund. I'm in shock that I sold something bad. Half way through the message I start thinking there is no way those wheels were stripped. Also crossed my mind why he waited 4 days to notify me. Anytime I buy used or new I alway inspect the products as soon as i receive them.

I messaged him back asking for pictures and told him I'd issue a refund. So my question is how do I know that he didn't strip the wheels and just trying to pull a fast one on me. He is new to the site so I kind of feel I'm being taking advantage of.

Working on that now. Hard for me to believe I stripped a 2wd buggy wheel within a few laps. Never in my 5 years of racing have I done that. However 4wd sct I had a few get stripped.

Alright so another flag I spotted. He says he put tire compound on. Isn't that usually done after tires are mounted. How I do it atleast.

Anyways here are pics he sent. I can't see a way to determine if he caused the damage or if I shipped that way.

Second he says first day

id have him return them and refund if those are what you sent, the 1 pic looks like no compound on front tires.

I issued refund for the rear set. Guess I learned my lesson to make sure I take pictures of every detail. Only way I see I could've covered myself.
Cain, konasubs and sacmiata like this.

Yeah, I believe I would have taken pictures of the inside of the wheels as proof they were good to go before shipping them.

bsp, I would bet on anything he ran those and stripped them out. Considering I’ve have striped out a set on a 2wd vehicle myself and when that happens the vehicle quits moving because all the power goes to the side of least resistance (unless the diff is locked up). So if you ran those and stripped them out your car would not have worked either. You would have noticed then they were stripped Just my 2 cents...

Lesson learned, he probably took you for a ride bud just be careful and take photos of every little detail next time. On tires always get photos of the hex.
