Hi All,

GOOD NEWS......................

We have some new land

In fact we have about 3-4 acres to use and we are going to build a killer track

Better still this is council land, thier is already a toilet block, water and power at the sight..........

We are hoping to start construction of the new track this weekend (always handy when you have someone in the club you owns a 25 tonne excavator)

Anyway we will post pics as we proceed

BAD NEWS.................

The track at Yandina is offically CLOSED............

So the more help we get the quicker we can start racing on the new track

Cheers

Hi ChrisB

The track is at 129 Connection Road Mooloola

Right next door to the Mooloola Country Club

We may not be able to get a start this weekend due to the weather.....

Have to wait and see

And next weekend we are away at the Nationals.....

We have also decided that the drivers stand and pitlane need to be able to accomodate up to 14 people at a time

Big thanks to Stuart for lenghtening the pit lane from 7 metres to 14 metres (and thats just the top bit)

When you include the entry and exits the total length is over 21 metres........

Lucky the front and rear straights are 50 metres long

Cheers

Lightbulb New Track

Hi again,
something I have been meaning to bring up ! I think im probly 1 of the few poeple who still loves 1/10 2WD/4WD electric Cars, I was hoping to see a 1/10 buggy/truck "Friendly" section in the new track (the yandina track was a bit 1/8 buggy style )
Im thinking a multi class track, were 1 end gets blocked off (short cuts) so the track is a tad smaller and free flowing for electric racing and the other end can have the huge jumps that 1/8 cars love ! I know there isnt many electric drivers, but if we "build it they will come" (so they say)

I will speak about it more when I catch up with the committee.

Does anyone think this is a good idea ?

Chris

HI Pitdog,

We have met with the committie of the Country Club quite a few times now........

On 2 occasions we have run up to 6 cars for them to listen to

We have also agreed to build a bank around certian parts of the track to help keep the noise contianed

At no time could they here the cars inside the club (even when we ran 6 1/8 buggies)

On the racing side of things we expect to kick off in March........

As before at our old track we will be racing every second Sunday

HI ChrisB

Yes we have designed the track for electric as well...........

The track will be able to shortened to suit electric cars.....

We use to have quite a strong group of electric racers

The electric track will only use about third (the front 1/3 of the track) to race on.

This will still be quite a large track as the full track will be pushing 390 metres in racing length

Cheers
