Default Spektrum dx3 any opinions on them

Has anybody had any experiance with the Spektrum dx3 system, or hear anything about them.
Also does anybody know of any deals going at the moment to buy one?

i found the tx where my thumb wraps around the grip to be one of the most uncomfortable yet.

go to your LHS and hod the radio like you would when your out mucking about.

i ended up with a groove being dented into my hand so fast.

one of the guys i drift with has one, and each time i grab the radio it just cains my thumb.

range is amazing, but the handset needs some serious ergonomic work...

I have found the unit to be excellent. Amazing range and very convenient when turning up to the track or to bash.......just switch on the radio and go. I use the DX3 for my vintage runners and "basher" cars for this reason.

I have large "shrek" like hands - and think the radio is one of the best fits out there......maybe I am biased as I love JR gear.....also sell heaps of it as well....great value. high quality radio.

Cheers

The DX3 would be great if you're in the market for a good system, like the spektrum but dont want/need a pro level radio.

Otherwise, shell out for a Helios/Z1 and Spektrum kit - tough combo to beat

I have had a DX3 for about 2 months now. I considered buying a JR R-1 and KO Helios with modules however at nearly half the price I couldnt justify spending so much more to only get exponential and lap timing (which is not very accurate anyway).

The DX3 is essentially a JR radio with spektrum module built in. It is based on the old JR XR2? Pro and comes with two JR servos (in Spektrum colours).

Personally I think it feels as good if not better than the JR R-1 radio (its a lot lighter and better balanced). A nice feature is the fold down aerial - good for transport/storage. The aerial arrangement on the module based spektrum units did not appeal.

The only downside is you cant remove the spektrum and replace with a different module - but why would you want to do that anyway?

At the end of the day got to a shop that has all three and buy the one that feels best in your hands.
