ford fans can take a little respect in knowing almost all of the lion victories on the mountain had there power put down through a ford diff cause theres break in two !
do they run local built motors or still the imported chev ones because of the relyability issues?
eitherway todays was a good race, still dirty on murph for taking ambrose out - sbr should have been onto the balaclava thing alot earlier and the #1 car wouldnt have been in that position at the end anyway
always next year

watttt
whats that ure BOSS 290 threatening to let go and 5500rpm, or the 351 which was a hand grenade, put ure foot down is like pulling the pin out..LOL.. And the Gen III, Gen IV and Holden 5.0litre go to the 6500rpm limiter all day long
BTW, the Top Loader and 9inch diff werent exaclty GT FORD items they were truck orientated, and the Super T-10(chev version of M21) was far superior to the Top Loader..
As for the V8 they stopped using the chev 3-4years ago, its the Aurora spec 5.0litre 90' V8, the chev was an 80'V8..
p.s. Larry Perkins has been buildings his own 304 V8s since Castrol Perkins Racing incarnation.....
All in all...Holden are still the undisputed kings of the mountain...
And if my memory serves me right... the AU Falcon never won a bathurst...and either will the BA with the release of BF next year....better luck next time

Well done to the king himself skaife is still the best driver out there and today proved this with strategies and driver skill. And well ambrose it would of been a better crash if he went over the edge hehe cause he drives on the edge and takes other people out poor murph could been another year for the kiwi except old ambrose ran out of road again being greedy.....

On the other hand, the gen 3 was a nightmare for holden. Piston slap and ridiculous oil consumption was the order of the day. This engine was/is the only hand grenade..
The gen IV, like the Gen III, is an LS7 derivative designed in detroit and built in Canada. It's GM yes, but you could hardly call it holden! p.s.it still uses pushrods! Dinosaur!

I would like to congratulate Skaife and Kelly.
Whoever wins against the mountain has to be doing a great job regardless.
Holdens had it on the day, that's racing.
Heartfelt commiserations for Lowndes and Muller. They had the speed just not the luck and Panorama requires both in abundance.
A great race.

A lot of Ambrose hate here. Maybe people don't understand a good racer when they see one
Murphy was as guilty as sin for that accident, as he knew it. Just like what he did to Bargwanna back in 2002 at Phillip Island. Ambrose I have noticed lately has become a little more arrogant, but no where near the levels of Skaife and Murphy.
And damn Skaife winning. Holden had a conspiracy going with taking out the top Ford drivers, first shooting wheels at Lowndes, then getting Murphy to smash into Ambrose

The Stroke has nothing to do with it, and all problems are not publicised may i add..sure i know the Gen III had a few niggling issues but they never completely let go, unlike a 351 2v & 4v...
And as for Pushrods aint nuthing wrong with them, if it aint broke dont fix it.... and why is that ford doesnt put a redline in the fairlane quad cam v8 and some other variants...to save emmbarasment...
Commodore...king of the mountain and the street......
PS. I never said the GEN was a holden....only the 5litre

Think back to the hardie farodo 500 when the drivers use to drive the cars on cheese cutters , beening thrown all over the seat thats what you call REAL drivers not like now a days with the full race seats and slicks and all the techonogly there only going about 5 secs fasters anyways
