If the club commits to them, say, this week and then they suck at AOC in 3 weeks time like some of the recent reports from NSW I am sure they will cop criticism.

If the club commits to MM Rush - and then the Volantes are awesome at AOC I am sure they will cop criticism even if the MM Rush work.

And they will cop even more criticism of they turn out to be inconsistent duds like they did a little while back at the another major event (forget which one, was in NSW also I think).

And if they choose a different tyre, well, that's pot luck!

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It is unlikely the Volante tyres will suck at AOC. The biggest problem with the Volante tyres is longevity. The Volante tyres at Hobby Habit are good for at least 5 to 6 runs before showing signs of the ring of death with more consistent grip levels between runs where as at an outdoor track the tyres degraded after the first run with a noticeable performance deficit on the second run. It may be due to track temperature and the track surface, who knows.

^agreed. Was more of a "hypothetical" to explain the fact it's hard to win and make everyone happy when it comes to tyres.

During practice we can run practice in groups. Time for each group would be allocated on a rolling basis and no other groups would be allowed on the track at the same time to avoid any speed differentials. (I did just check the rules and this what they define as open practice)

The event is still a few months away, plenty of time to sort these things out. The best way to address any issues is at club meetings, either the general meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of the month or at race days which are 2nd and 4th Sundays or on a Friday night, the next of which is this Friday night. I think this next one might be the last before we take a break over the coldest part of winter.
Maybe everyone missed this post, it clearly shows the club acknowledge your issues and their willingness to find remedies, note the invitation to attend a general meeting to sort things out even the dates are mentioned.

Hi guys, I've been out for a few months with a broken leg and am just wondering if the track layout has been changed?

Hi all I'm starting to set up my t4 14 X-ray to run 21.5 hopefully at the state titles and have two questions. 1. What rear diff oil should I be running as I had the stock oil in it which appears to have leaked out and made it more like an open diff. 2. What is the best body to run? Thanks

Can't go wrong with starting with an LTC-R at LH.

For oil and 21.5, hmm, well between 1000 and 3000 seems to work best for 13.5, so similar.
