In Qld you could pretty much use the Takeoff CS-32's all year round. Maybe step back to the 27's during winter.
Temperature ratings: 22's: 0 - 30 degrees (Stanthorpe maybe...:D) 27's: 10 - 50 degrees :tire::tire: 32's: 20 - 60 degrees :tire::tire: 37's: 40 - 70 degrees (Rocky in the summer???:D) |
27's are basically useless in Qld at this time of teh year (except possibly for nightime) and in Rockhampton where the titles were held thay would have been worse than useless because of the heat.
Most clubs in Qld don't normally race on rubbers and allow racers to use whatever tyres they like. Rubbers are popular at Wynnum because it is concrete and Sorex reigns (32 or 36 in summer) And there is a control tyre class at Yeronga which uses the Control K Proline and no chance of that changing. The criteria for choosing the control tyre for the Qld titles precluded Take Offs for a couple of reasons (guaranteed availability and distribution). Both the Control K Proline and Sorex are in plentiful supply from local Hobby Shops around Queensland. |
In that case Id definately stick with sorex, I forgot to mention that we switch straight to sorex 36 from takeoff 27's when it really heats up...
the 36 is a great tire, very wide temperature band, and even works in colder conditions provided you can use tire warmers for the start. go with Sorex if they are in supply, they are used in the states, thailand and most other hot/humid climates... |
