I've run a few different servos with the XS3. The only problem i've encountered is that some cheap/old tech servos dont like being run on the fast frame rate. Im back to running either JR or KO servos! Have not had a problem since.

I run a KO Propo servo in my Xray and haven't had any problems with the XS3.

hi, I run a Futaba 9550 servo with the xs 3 no probs. If using a digital servo, try and use an RS 310 receiver and make sure that you set the frame rate to F ( fast ) in the xs 3 set up

both the rs 300 & rs 310 receiver are synthesised. I recommend the rs 310 receiver for digital servos as it has no inbuilt bec. as i said, i run a Futaba servo with the rs 310 receiver with no probs.Make sure you have the wiring on the lead to match the receiver wiring

Probably should have added that I run the synthesised model. Don't have any probs at all.

Hi, I run the RS300 and RS310 with a variety of Hitec servos, mostly 645 and 625 MG's, no problems so far.

Default XS3 Question

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying my friend's XS3 for my TA04R. Would I be able to use the THROTTLE in reverse mode? Will I get the same amount of travel on the trigger on acceleration by pushing it forward instead ? Because I'm used to trigger 'forward' on acceleration and brakes by pulling back the trigger.

Appreciate any information you can share.

Cheers.

should be ok to do you will need to change the neutral point on the throttle trigger screw in the end. then reset your speedy. Only reason it may not work is if the neutral point/full throttle poiint is too close.

Just a note had a lot of frequency clashes from the 27mhz xs-3 radio.
channel 1 is 26.975 not 26.995 like the manual says we have checked this with a frequency checker and found this to be the case

also as for the BEC in the 300 style receiver you can bypass this by using a y lead from the battery plugging the steer servo into the other side then into the func 1 port(steering) in the receiver

Sorry to drag up a (very) old thread but the post quoted above is very relevant to something that a couple of drivers at my club were talking about today and it got me thinking.

One of the drivers found a JR frequency list on the net. The list states that for FM 27MHz, JR run all twelve channels. However the instruction manual for the Synthesised XS3 states that only the even channels can be used (26.995, 27.045, 27.095, 27.145, 27.195, 27.255). The driver thinks that all twelve frequencies can be used by just setting the TX and RX to the desired channel number. Hence as mentioned above, Ch 1 would be 26.975, Ch 2 - 26.995 etc.

Does anyone know if this is true, or could someone check with a frequency checker to confirm or deny this.

Thanks
Ben

found this to be the case on the few radios we checked with a frequency checker(frequency checker was borrowed from a member of PDNR)
