Traction Tips
Hi guys, i was just wondering if anyone had some good advice on traction ie. compounds, methods, secrets and heat for different surfaces and tracks, this may have been talk about before on other threads, but there could be something new out there in the RC world so lets have it. :sneaky:

Rubber tire inserts with built-in tyre warmers inside will be out soon. You can control the temps via transmitter.     Release date will be around 2010

get some "simple green" cleaner (bunnings in cleaning isle)
its not a traction compound, but works vey well in cleaning the rubber tyres and to bring them back the original stickyness. its also good stuff for cleaning your car :) |
wd40
Just get some WD40, and rub it into your tires. Instant grip...

Traction Tip #1
Get a tyre truer and sand/grind the centre mould line off first, then rough up the rest of the surface before applying copious ammounts of traction compound, let bake in tyre warmers for 30 mins at 40'c, then wipe away excess before hitting the track.
PS. don't put your car on the dirty surface of the track or you have just wasted your time  |

Run foams at the club meets and look at what the pros do at the big meets, it mean you dont have to be as precise with setup and the car will hang on which = fun and thats what its supposed to be.

What is "simple green?' what does it look like. I went to bunnings cleaning isle and i didnt see it there.
By the way suntan lotion has really brought my cs 27s up nicely. They are feeling nice and soft again. |
use motor cleaner it works great and unlike WD40 it doesn break down the properties of the tyre

hehehe when i was building my mi2 shocks the shck oil spilt on the tiles and OMG i slipped and landed on my arse like 5 times.

I too spilt some shock fluid whilst building shocks, but it was on the road. The truck driver that drove over it said he felt it grip slightly, just before he slid into a power pole!!!!!!!! :weird:
