The good thing with the SJ is that its got 20amp discharge(ICE only 10amp), backlit LCD(ICE no back lit), 10-30amp motor run in(ICE 10amp) and comes with temp sensor(ICE doesnt come with one)
Its similar to the ice minus some ice features

Ice also runs motors in very cheap compared to the similar models on the market

traj, how can say it similar to the ice minus some features.
has 20amp discharge instead of the ice's 10 amp
does have motor run in
if you look at the specs, of the charger it actually has better features than the ice.

I think he meant, it's the ICE thats minus some features...

The Supernova Competition has better specs than the ICE, and minor extra features....

I've been loving my supernova so far. I'm likely to pick up some lipo cell's soon which I'm keen to try out on this charger. I might sell my CDC 6B to buy a second supernova comp

I am thinking of getting one.

Is impulse charge and/or reflex charge method good for NiMH?

I notice when charging with my CDC, my NiMH get really hot.
Do this Super Nova Competition charger do the same?

Thats what i meant sorry I also think the Supernova looks more stylish than the ice.. all the previous supernovas were awsome so this new model should live it to the expectations.

I have used a few different chargers and I agree that cells off a CDC are quite hot, but they always go better too.

Would be interesting to see how this charger holds up as I am looking at getting a bank of 4 (as yet undecided).

I have had my Competition for a few weeks now, and it all works well,

only issue is that when discharging a pack ( with over 1000ma left) when it is finnished instead of it giving a "finished" tone with the data, instead it goes "beep beep" and a error of battery disconnected.

does anyone else have this error?

also check your power supply! if you run anything below 10 amps this could also be your problem.

it is a 14A PSU, but it only happens when discharging, not charging, and only when it is more than around 1000mah
