Mylaps RC4 hybrid transponder vs. MRT PTX transponder
There is some confusion about what transponders will work and not work with AMB and Mylaps systems.
The facts...
MRT PTX transponders will NOT work on the new Mylaps RC4 decoder.
Many clubs and race venues are taking advantage of the cheap upgrade to RC4 decoder, so be warned that the MRT will soon not work at many venues.
The RC4 HYBRID transponder is the ONLY type that will work on ALL AMB and Mylaps RC timing systems.
The newly available cheaper PURE RC4 transponder will ONLY work on Mylaps RC4 system and will not work on any other AMB or Mylaps system.
So the RC4 HYBRID is the best one to own.
AMBrc rechargeable transponders AKA house transponder, club transponder will continue to work with all AMBrc systems, Mylaps RC3 and Mylaps RC4 systems.

Yes it appears that Mylaps will phase out (stop selling) the hybrids but all AMB and Mylaps RED transponders will continue to work.
We LCRCCC have just swaped orderd 20 odd exchanges and i'm planning to swap more as members / drivers want.

I asked mylaps about same number.. so here are some more facts.
1) they will not re-issue an existing number... so basically any number traded in, is lost, as they can't confirm who had it originally
2) Car-ID's aren't available on trade in's, only new orders. This is because Car ID's have to be ordered from the factory, trade-in's are done from local stock held.
3) You can, however, add a car ID of trade in replacement RC4 number... just have to pay full whack.

Why are we going this way? ?? Seems like such an inconvenience.
Must buy Mylaps RC4 decoder software
Must buy new transponders. But the cheaper version wont work everywhere.
Cant clone numbers
