No is the short answer. Certainly not in Australia. Even if you find a race offering money as a prize chances are you'll have spent that much in pursuit of the win anyway. And if you're thinking about sponsorship, most deals involve you buying at reduced cost.

For the store owner, the importer, the manufacturer etc, yes.

For the driver, no. If you are even thinking of RC racing as a paying profession then you're probably barking up the wrong tree.

Ok a question then guys.
How much would you reckon someone like Drake, Tebo, Mayfeild etc.. make per year out of racing.

You can make a small fortune racing R/C!

Just have to start off with a big fortune and it will shrink soon enough

Nowhere as much as someone who put the effort in to get an education, and a decent job......

Yup. Just enough to get by I'm guessing. I remember watching a utube vid somewhere where Travis Amezcua said he'll get around a 6 - 7K bonus if he wins a really big event (Nationals).

*Edit* found the vid....

To be perfectly honest if you were to enter the hobby/sport just to make some cash then I would look elsewhere. The most you can 'probably' get is maybe a sponsor for parts or something but 99% of people don't have one.

You can make a little cash by spraying shells for people but I'm talking about a small amount that would class as pocket money for most.

If you had money to invest in a track with a small specialised shop and canteen you could make money out of others racing SCT if only I could drop that on visa.

Probably the most viable answer yet.

Sure there is money in racing...........all the thousands you of bucks you throw at your favorite type of racing. And then Monday comes around and you go back to work so you can throw more money at it next weekend. If only there was some form of professional league involving rc ...that would be great, but its only a pipe dream.
