Default B6.1D Setups

Hi guys, I have been working on some starting setups for the B6.1D outdoors. Ive tested standup 3 and 4 gear, standup shocks forward, and layback shocks rear. Here are a few setups to get you going. Ill be updating these as we do more testing

Hi Ray,

Thanks for your great thread.

Returning to RC with a B6D.

Will be running Stock 17.5 with 4 Gear Stand Up......any Spec Sheets that would get me dialled in at St Ives track in NSW?

thanks!

Hi mate, this is the same as the middle / upper hole in the kit plastic hubs.

Hi mate, welcome back!

Id suggest using this as a starting point:
Team Associated B6D - Ray Munday - Keilor Cup - 16-17.12.2017

If the grip is low, use the 25g brass C block (needs some dremelling to fit the standup). This gives a lot more rear grip. The B5R rear arms make the wheelbase 2mm shorter, this really helps as well. Any questions let me know.

Hi Ray

curious to know if you've done a setup guide for the B64D, like you did for the B6 (and B5)?

many thanks

Simon

Thanks Ray!!

another question, this time about LRC vs HRC A + B blocks. I bought a club car which comes with HRC blocks for some reason. Neither of the other kits come this way so I'm wondering why, and what effect this might have on the car

thanks

Hi ray are the b5 front axles the same as the b6 ones except made out of steel instead of aluminium?

Hi mate, I believe the distance between bearings is different. You can probably make it fit with a washer /spacer but I don't believe they are a direct fit (Im not home at the moment so cant compare for you sorry).

Hi mate, sorry for slow response. The HRC front blocks are not something I have run. A high roll centre on the front can make the car feel a little darty then push mid corner. To compensate, I would run the front axle at 0mm height instead of +1mm, and I would use no washers on the outer front link. Add 1mm bumpsteer washer. The overall feeling should be similar.

TBH Im not sure why they are included in the club car.

Thanks Ray, appreciate the setup tips (seriously, I would never have worked this out for myself!!). TBH I was mostly curious about why they did this when neither of the other kits are sold this way...

Hello Mr Munday
hope all is well mate.
I just built a b6.1D and have an sc6.1 on its way soon.
The where the buggys shocks mount to the tower - was very sloppy! How did you remedy this?

Hi, on my kits the vertical play is minimal. There is some play forwards / backwards, but this does not change the suspension movement as it is 90deg to the suspension operation. You can reduce that using washers or an o-ring but if there is any binding it will hinder the suspension free movement.

Hope you enjoy driving the car and the SC6.1!!
