hi to all F1 drivers,

I thought I start a new thread in regards to a growing number of F1 enthusiast in sydney. hope the new thread will help current and new F1 drivers in regards to sharing setups, pix and the rest.....I am new to this class so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I just preordered the up coming new 3Racing FGX and cant wait to get it built and upracing.

Hey mate, that's an interesting looking F1. When will you get it? What bodies fit it?

danjoy25 10-21-2011 11:46 PM

Any ideas how we can do the LED blinking brake light. I've seen most SMA drivers with this so please share.:)

That unit I believe is a Tamiya part, but I might be mistaken.

Good idea to start this thread, as F1's are pretty much on their own, in every respect compared to TC and Pro10.

Regarding that new 3Racing, it does look nice and the IRS if anything will help by adding some ballast to the rear of the chassis. Although it does move the motor to a closer to central position. I'll be interested to see if it's revolutionary or just over complicated

I am not sure how everyone else gets it done but i just got one up and running. It cost me a bit over a $1 from jcar electronics for a blinking red led plus a resistor as recommended by the shop . Added some wire , soldered it together and to the esc . Time will tell if it lasts but it works. I will have it at sma tuesday night if it interests anyone.
Love the F1 and looking forward to trying the new 3racing F1 pictured above

There are a few threads around already for F1 they just dies down not that F1 Has .. we brought it back to life at SMA witha few others a few years ago and still going strong as it is also at Castlehill I believe.. might head back down to SMa now its coming on Summer with some of the lads for some more action... Ed you have the 201 F1 Sorted and ready to go... dont know about Sunday as its my birthday Saturday.. brain may not be in working order..

By the way Blinking lights can be purchased from most Hobby Shops Flasher 5mm 3 Racing stand alone bout 4 bucks or the home where most F1 Nuts hang out which is HERE!! http://www.d-drivesportsenglish.com/

9th. I needed more set up time, 15 minutes (3 heats) isnt enough. The car was good and am very happy with it.

Buy a flashing red led, add a resistor and a servo lead, plug into the 3rd channel on your reciever....too easy.

Or so I'm led to believe, I have the parts here but haven't pulled my finger out and done one yet

I’ve been using a flashing led from Jaycar (ZD0240) as have several others at Castle Hill. A resistor is not required. Just wire up correctly (positive to the longer metal connection protruding from the led) and plug into the 3rd channel.

That 3racing car looks mint !!! Unfortunately it wont be allowed to run with our WA F1 rules being solid rear axle.

Im sure i'll buy one anyway just because i can :P

Its a shame the F1 claass in WA isn't more popular. SO many people have them, jsut not enough people turn up to races, it's normally only 2 or 3 people at races.
