Nice does the car end up wider or narrower at all or is the offset the same as the tamiya rims?

That's my Top Force you are referring to Micky in the TBG Top Force add.

I have a heap of those HPI wheels. They are cheap and good quality . Offsets are the same as Tamiya star wheels. No better or worse.

I have installed the torque splitter set too - Firstly I ran with the locked centre, and the car seemed very tight on the track, but turn in, and tyres suffered somewhat ! It was fantastic on very loose tracks though.

I'm now running with the one -way installed, rear ball diff fairly tight, and the front what I would consider medium-loose. It handles extremely well, although considering the cars weight, it does bounce around a bit, and bottoms out on jumps like it needs some heavier shock oil - What are you using?

Tim
Thanks Tim for the info.

I have not built up my ball diffs yet as I'm quite happy with the worm drive gear diffs for now. The Hi Caps have really transformed my Avante to no end. The Hybrid Tyres helped too as having the same width front & rear just gives too much steering. As for the shocks mine are standard Hi Caps sets with 30wt oil & 2 hole pistons I think.

A few more mods to come. Just love it.

Well my Vaj-rahrah turned up this morning, as I suspected, not a scratch not dent on the box our inside! Still came with the bonus parts tribal flame decals, full bask bearings & gt tuned 25t motor. Rear hi caps showed up today aswell. Already got the rear shock tower, wheels & tyres. Waiting on the front hi caps, going to order some repro bf8 &9 front shock mounts, probably also fibrelyte chassis plates if these don't fit under the eggress body.. Got some spd egress decals on their way, still have to ode the body & undertray..

Default My Frog from the 80's!!!!!

I have a soft spot for the Frog & this is why I say.

This is my first Frog back in 85 which I converted from a Brat.. I ball raced it, Fox rear shocks , A Kyosho Le Mans 480T motor & after the pics a ESC with a hi speed throttle relay. Twin aerials were made up out of wire coat hangers.

Action pic's were really hard to take back then with a old film camera . So my mate did a good job I think. I plan to do a replica paint job on one of my re re Frogs. I got the paint scheme from the back pages of the Tamiya Catalog back in the day. I still like it now

As always comments are welcome good & bad LOL.

Yeah man Frogs are cool. Those old photos are good memories to have. My first RC car was a Frog, I ball raced mine as well, cost a fortune to do it back then! I think it was every kids dream to convince their parents to let them dig up the backyard to build an off road track. I was lucky enough that we had a vacant block of land next door to make a small track out of.

I agree ozipanda The Frog was my first r/c as well, I remember doing laps at the Lota track next to the train station many years ago never got into racing but still had heaps of fun.
