ill stick with the one-way, since i was going to get a ball diff, i havent got alot of money . But like everybody said, its the driver. Ill get a new 540 motor and put it in, run it in, gear it right, and try to focus on my consistantcy. Because in the secound rould of the challenge cup, thats why i lost, and a little to the dud grey johnston motor.; i shouldn't have a problem on friday. Ill try to do some consistant clean driving.

Thanks for the advise Marc

Set your car up right AND you will have some brakes WITH your oneway. I used brakes with a oneway and won mod last friday. It was nessasary to get the turn in at speed with the rubber (or lack of) that I had on.

Does your car come out off power or only when you brake?

It is most likely my tires, they are more than a year old and i can see the insert in them. What would be a good tire and insert for 540??? But with the oneway, ill leave it in cause it teaches me how to drive good. 2nd is not bad since i got knocked to the back of the pack when i started off. It like in the secounf heat when i could of won the heat but Ray Wallace lead me straight up a dome.

It sucks buy thats racing

marc i would tell you to choose sorex 24r's with say a soft or a soft-medium insert, dont buy tamiya or sorex rims.

yeah leave the one-way in because as you say it helps you "drive good" now all you need to know is how to spell good.

Just a point about Ray. He did win the week before so he can't be that bad. We all have dificulty in passing in 540 as the top end speed just isn't there but it is part of the skill in doing well in the class, to position your car so that any contact will cause the least damage.

If you are down the inside of someone and they don't want to give way, then they will probably suffer the consequences.

I would recommend sorex 28's. You should not need 24's for castle hill unless you really need grip. Medium b insert is the safest all round bet.

troy that is what i first thought of but with the c insert. then i thought for 540 there wont be to much heat build up(compared to stock and mod) so i said 24s would be the safe bet for those reall cold nights.

Could you use Sorex 20's with soft type B Sorex inserts at castle hill.

You should be able to make the 28's go round corners but with the harder tyres, you get better corner speed. Remember to check lap times to see how you are going, cause softer tyres make the car feel better, but are sometimes slower.

If all the guys in stock run 28's then you should be in 540 too. The other advantage is you can run 28's all year round tho 32's are better in summer.
