Take the middle row of grid squares out and it might be possible...

i reckon if we staighten up some of thoes curves and make that 'S' section a bit less windy it will be sweat!

and by the looks of it, its a alround track. nice long straight and some nice twisty sections.

Looks fast but if a square is 5m x 5m you will have to reduce it by one square in the width and 3 squares in the length. Then see how the track goes. Also reduce the width of the track to 3.5 m.
One other point two, I am thinking about a special class starting next piontscore for those young at heart drivers 40+. Any comments???
Plus to improve 540 and make it more interesting to have handout motors and you must run with a V8 body other wise you will run in stock no exceptions. They will be a cost involved in entering that class for the motor and all motors will be handed out and collected at the beginning and the end of the night.
These are only thoughts that I would like to see your comments from the drivers from Castle Hill.

A pensioners class sounds very interesting. Have you any thoughts on what motor will be used?

Default OVER 40'S CLASS & HANDOUT MOTORS

TREVOR

i agree with both these ideas & would support them as it will bring the racing a lot closer. how would you monitor the motor wear/variance with the v8 540 class ? i was only discussing this very issue of handout motors with another last friday nite.
lets get this happening its a great move

I'm sure a penalty such as loss of points would sharpen the memory.

TJ, the last timed we played with the V8 540 class (control tyres) we killed the class. I was one of the supporters of controlled tyres when it was proposed but it was not a success. We went from having 2 or 3 heats of 540 each night to struggling to fill 1 heat.

540 racing at Castle Hill is great at the moment. 3 or 4 heats every week. The competition in both A & B finals is good.

I think we are all racing the same motor today as most people buy the motors from the track on a Friday. Is there concern about tampering of motors ... if yes ... then more scrutineering including pulling motors out is the answer.

If it ain't broke ... don't try and fix it. 540 racing at the moment is the strongest it has been for 3 or 4 years.

TJ,
I like to race 540 and F1 and will probably continue to do so. I can't see I will change class just to race with people closer to my own age. Adding another class just potentially adds to the length of the meet. Would prefer 5 min finals on a regular basis rather than a new class.

PS: I think we already had a 40+ class in F1 last Friday.

Default RE=540 CLASS/OVER 40'S

IF YOU ADD AN OVER 40 CLASS OF 540 YOU WILL STILL END UP WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF HEATS NOT MORE IT JUST MEANS INSTEAD OF 3 NORMAL HEATS YOU WILL HAVE 1 OF OVER 40'S & 2 OF EVERYBODY ELSE.YOU WOULD HAVE MORE OVER 40'S RACING 540 THAN THE 4 OR 5 IN F1 AS IT IS NOW

WHO IS GOING TO DO THIS ADDITIONAL SCRUTINEERING OF THE 540 CLASS ? & WHAT SORT OF TIME FRAME IS THAT GOING TO TAKE ? IF THIS HAPPENS YOU WONT BE GETTING HOME EARLIER THAN YOU ARE NOW

i think that the 540 class should stay the same but mabe think of a 540 and a 540 pro??

the seniors class is the F1 sorry rod.

but i think for the 540 motor rule make it that they can only buy the tamiya one from u and linda.

what does 540 pro sound like to people?
