VINTAGE anyone?

Want to get your old RC10's JRX2's or even a Cat or two running again?

I would like to see if there is any interest in running Vintage at our club days.
Keep it simple, run as per Castle Hill rules. Vintage with Johnson 540 & Classic with Tamiya Sport Tune.

Come and have a chat at our next Clubby on Sunday the 10th of June.

Cheers Jeff

G’day guys

I’ve been out of the game for a while and have a few questions.

My nephew just picked up a b5m (first car). Just wondering what gearing I should be aiming for with a 17.5? I was thinking a 72t spur and pinions raging between 30 and 35...

what tyres res are working at Maitland? Still holeshots?

Still chasing a 17.5... not real fussy, just something to learn with. Anyone have one for sale?

Also, any setup help for the b5 would be helpful. I’m setting him up with shorty packs, not saddles. Is this the go?

cheers guys

I'm setting up similar to TeamWTF and would really appreciate anyone from MORCC filling us in on their setups. I realise everyone is different, but a good starting point would be very much appreciated.

Hi there, I just stumbled accross this post, so to both the peeps asking, i dont know the answer, try asking on the RYDE or castle hill sites, someone there should know the gearing.

Hi TeamWTF,

Gearing for 17.5 is between 5:1 to 6:1, depending on brand of Motor.
As for Tyres I would start with Proline Holeshots M3 compound.
Yes shorty is the main battery used these days.

I am not an AE user so cannot help with that, try Petit RC, site has setups for most cars and conditions.

Hi All,
Changes to AARCMCC Stock Motor Rules for 2019 sanctioned events and club series.

4WD stock class will change from 17.5 to 13.5 ROAR/BRCA approved motors of drivers choice

17.5 2WD ROAR/BRCA approved motors
13.5 4WD ROAR/BRCA approved motors

You can still use your current 17.5 Much More control motor for club racing, however you may like to start using the new spec motors.

Cheers Jeff
