- The race format will be the same as the current Tuesday night F1 format: 2 x 5min qualifiers and 1 x 8min final

New racer here.
Can someone give me a starting point, for 13.5 spek, gear ratio.
Xray T4, has a 84 t spur, I think i have to get a smaller spur, to get the correct ratio, old novak 13.5 motor.
Thanks

re FDR
Good starting point for most seems to be 3.8
I know a 72 spur/36 pinion fits a T4 which is exactly 3.8
Run 1min temp and repeat.
there is some running as low as 3.5 and others as high as nearly 4.00 without much speed difference on straights.

Northen Beaches Hobbies or Powerhouse performance will be able to help.

anything close to 72 will work even a 68 or 69 and adjust pinion to suit.

Default SMA F1 Championship - Round 1 wrap up

The opening round of the SMA F1 Championship saw a field of 13 F1 cars battling it out for top honours. After the two qualifying rounds, Cristian Silva claimed TQ from Deniz Demarco, and Andrew Miller in 3rd despite missing Q2 with motor dramas.

At the race start, Cristian lead from Deniz for the first 10 laps but a coming together of the top two saw Andrew able to sneak through. From there he was then able to maintain a healthy gap and take the win. Cristian and Deniz rounded out the podium. A strong run by Hiroshi Ishizaki, had him taking 4th place after starting 7th while Beth Cullen finished under the radar in her starting position of 5th.

The latest chapter in the ongoing Paul Smith/Anthony “Kebab” Gullotta duel ended with no real winner. A mid race collision saw both cars actually stuck together and losing a lap on the field therefore ruining both of their races. Paul was able to claim bragging rights of sorts in the end with a 6th place.

The rest of the field included some walking wounded with cars either only just making it over the line (Brett Allen) or stopping with a handful of laps to Kebab (damaged tyre) Trent Allen (broken diffuser) and in 10th Matt Brabant (broken wing/lost transponder)

Driver / TOTAL
1 ANDREW MILLER 25
2 CHRISTIAN SILVA 18
3 DENIZ DEMARCO 15
4 HIROSHI ISHIZAKI 12
5 BETHANY CULLEN 10
6 PAUL SMITH 8
7 BRETT ALLEN 6
8 KEBAB 4
9 TRENT ALLEN 2
10 MATT BRABANT 1
11 DENNIS LEUNG 0
12 DAVID HARRIS 0
13 MICHAEL SOROUNI 0

So Andrew Miller takes out the first win of the series and in doing so has the lead in the Championship. Early days of course....
