adriano87dj and any other drifters,

I just wanted to point out that Bersercoe's home club is Windsor.
I dont think a member of SMA has stated that drifters are not welcome at our track. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

The issue is more of an organisational thing. And the way in which you guys ran your meet.

If we happened to be holding a scheduled race meeting with no notice on that day and the drifters turned up and couldnt do what they wanted, I'm sure there would be a lot of displeased people. Please also keep in mind that for the majority of our members only having half a track to practice on is a waste of time.

Or you could donate the Hobbywing to your nephew who is scrounging pennies for his wedding??

Although it is in the past......

The last time I had an issue at the track regarding drifters it was on a Saturday (their day) and was abruptly told "no grip cars cause they'll damage our cars". I also recall an ex club official banning the drifters due to an issue with plastic deposits left behind on the track due to PVC pipe debrie.

At the end of the day, Tuesday nights and Sunday days are registered "grip" car days, as per history and the SMA website. Drifters had Saturdays reserved for them, allowing them to tell me "no grip cars". I respected them for that reason on the Saturday I showed up to run.

The other issue seems to be, we are not a charity. Even if you are a member of SMA, if you show up to run, regardless of what you run, it is $10.00. If you rock up with mates that aren't members, they pay $10.00 each too.

If you are a member, and others are running anything, ensure you enforce the basic rules as you are responsible for anything that occurs in the track area.

The club doesn't make a fortune from the basic funds collected from each member driving when they like, Jets collects the majority. Lets bring it back to a fun atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Just don't abuse the basic systems we have in place. You don't want to stay in the naughty corner, do you?

If you are not a member, you are not allowed to run unless it is a designated club day.
That is one of the privileges of becoming a member.

Everyone needs to read the "SMA Track Use Instructions" on the SMA website. I wrote it up a few years back when I was Secretary.

TallduDe,

The Club Secretary (Senna racing) is currently in Thailand racing (check the TITC 2010 thread). I expect he will organise the cards when he returns.

I believe the club has a list of financial members in the event that you wish to race/practice.

I'm not sure about this one but I tihnk they have the list behind the bar so you can head down when you want as well(outside of club race days).

Best thing to do would be to come down on Sunday and have a chat to the guys running Mini. I see you've already posted in the Mini forum, so the guys there will have some good ideas too.

Phil.
