screw for Tamiya Ball Diff... :(

Anyone know any shop that has stock of the
screw for the Tamiya TA04 or EvoIII Ball Diff?

Its the long 2mm caphead thingy... broke it. :(

Have tried everything down here in Melbourne, no luck.

Anyone bought it before recently?

If you've only been trying hobby shops try an engineering supplies shop.

You will have little luck. With the F201 Diffs (Evo III and IV also) the diff screws are very very brittle. I know that the lightweight ball diff for the F201 comes with 2 screws with a reinforced section at the top of the screw to stop the breakages that affected the std diffs in the 201. You could check those out. I know that Metro Hobbies has stock of them fairly regularly due to me and a mate of mine constantly hassling them for availability. Unfortunately that would mean that you'd have to buy the entire lightweight ball diff set for the F201 (39 from metro by memory), but even so, check em out, just make sure the its the right length. Its like 2x15 I think, but check it out still.

I bought some of these cap screws fron small parts and bearings here in brisbane they are about $2.20 each. I also tried a stainless steel one from the same place for about 80 cents ea which also work. try the website that was posted by ghaden.

Also maske sure when you are assembling the diff that the thrust bearing is palced in with the bronze ring u see in the centre is not under the head of the screw as this binds under the head and tightens the screw and snaps it.
