Default Progress check

So far we want to:
add Tamiya Sports Tuned Motors to TSD.
Add M-03L to Mini class
Consider a time table to introduce 3600's
Increase F1 weight by 100g
Change Race Format
Current:
3 Heats, Points awarded on Qualifying
1 Final, Points awarded on finish, with bonus for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Proposed:
2 Heats, Points awarded on Qualifying
2 Finals, Points awarded on finish, with bonus for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Of course, this will need to go by the rest of the members.

People were say they wanted to talk about setups, well, bring it on...

Default Xray T1 Setup

Question for the guru's of the Xrays.I have been tinkering with an Xray and setting it up as per instruction sheets. The front and rear shocks appear to be all wrong. Front shocks were too short and made the car too low at the front and the rear shocks are too long and have basically zero travel and will bottem out before the car actually touches the ground. Any ideas as they are exactly as per the Xray specs

I don't think racing the 'black' motors in TSD are a very good idea, the main reason is not everyone can afford the black motors and they don't last as long. If there was no price difference between the speed tuned motors and the silver then it would be a possibility.

The main reason we created TSD was to keep racing close and allow those racers on a budget to have fun.

1. are they definatly X-Ray Shocks?
2. Are your droop screws wound all the way off?
3. is the difference in the length in the scock body (cyclinder)?

I tend to agre with Ben on this. Remember a 540 motor can be had for as little at $12AUD. Combine this with the Sports Tuned motors lack or dealing with being over geared and things could become expencive in this class.

Default Xray Shocks

According to the measurements I have taken and the measurements on the setup sheets they are the real deal. And also they have the 4 positions for adjustment. The front shocks are physically shrorter than the rears and this id from longer shafts in the rears .Droop screws wound back all the way so not making and issues. Was the first thing I did

Default Car Chassis

I have a question about a rule in the techs
(The Chassis must not be shaped to gain an aerodynamic advantage. In principle the underside of the chassis must be flat and parallel to the ground along the entire length of the bodyshell. Aerodynamic shaped parts (splitters/diffusers/tunnels/etc) may not be fitted to the chassis.)
Does this mean that I would be unable to put a full lexan underpan on the car that would be the footprint size of the body then cut slots etc to allow for cooling?

Default Batteries

As far as Batts are concerned - why encourage everyone to go out and buy new cells by allowing the 3600's ? If we wish to remain constant with the governing body - shouldnt we be keeping it simple? ( I understand it is only club racing !!)

From what I understand of the new 3600's is that they cant touch the GP 3300's yet anyway!! So why create confusion?

Not being aggressive - just thinking of the racer.

Cheers

Darryn

I didn't have the cover ready when I send it to you but if you want I can email you the cover today. So far I have had glowing reviews on it.

I think MECA 2 could see myself produce another DVD.

I guess you could, but why?
