HOBART EP OFF ROAD RACING
#138
Source of clay not far from the model park has been found by Brian.
Cost $300
Source of rope has been found by Jason. No cost but is likely to be located up north so we will have to get it down here ourselves. Will be looking to get 400m worth for the track edges.
Jason has also confirmed that the Hobart Hockey Centre has astro turf, but at a cost of $16.50 per metre. We would probly be looking at getting around 25-30m to cover our jumps.
These will be the short term goals of the club to get the track into shape.
Don't forget to bring money along for race fees this Sunday. Check-in at 10am.
Cheers,
Al

Unfortunately, it looks like I wont be able to make it tomorrow.
As for a soldering iron, I have a 40w goot from Jaycar, brilliant iron but not quite hot enough for those big jobs.
I also have a Weller Pyropen gas iron which I use almost always use now, best iron I have ever used (and I don't even like the brand, and it's got a leak).
Virtually instant recovery, adjustable temps, a few different tips available and no power cable (although is a bit bulkier than electric ones).
