Just had a call from the MyLaps head office on the mainland and will be getting a quote for a decoder and loop. I'll then be putting in a submission for funds for the system by means of a small grant that Brian bought to my attention.

Cheers,
Alex

Source of clay not far from the model park has been found by Brian.
Cost $300

Source of rope has been found by Jason. No cost but is likely to be located up north so we will have to get it down here ourselves. Will be looking to get 400m worth for the track edges.

Jason has also confirmed that the Hobart Hockey Centre has astro turf, but at a cost of $16.50 per metre. We would probly be looking at getting around 25-30m to cover our jumps.

These will be the short term goals of the club to get the track into shape.

Don't forget to bring money along for race fees this Sunday. Check-in at 10am.

Cheers,
Al

Nice Mark! I'll be wheeling the 22. The electrics I got in the RB5 aren't happy, seems to cog on the spot! I'll bring it along though and you electric wizs can take a look at it

Try changing the sensor cable, usually the main culprit.

Nice paint job Mark, I know I have seen that scheme somewhere before...

Unfortunately not the sensor cable. It wont do anything, but give it a push and it takes off cogging no matter how fast or slow I go...

I had this happen with a speed passion motor in my touring car.
Turned out to be the sensor board in the motor.
Try a different motor and see if it works, then see if you can get a new board for the X11.

Yeah I'll get my hands on one of the new HW 17.5T sensored motors that look the same as my SP V3 and see how it goes. Gives me a reason to finally go and get a soldering iron!

Get a decent soldering iron, you'll never regret it. Don't buy cheap and nasty!

Not looking good, rain, snow and thunder storms tonight.
Will be there regardless, if its too wet we can always go check out the surface at the BMX track so you can get a rough idea of what Brian has found.

Unfortunately, it looks like I wont be able to make it tomorrow.

As for a soldering iron, I have a 40w goot from Jaycar, brilliant iron but not quite hot enough for those big jobs.

I also have a Weller Pyropen gas iron which I use almost always use now, best iron I have ever used (and I don't even like the brand, and it's got a leak).
Virtually instant recovery, adjustable temps, a few different tips available and no power cable (although is a bit bulkier than electric ones).
