which buggy?

Hi guys, im new to buggies. Looking to get a 1/8 gas off-roader. Interested in either the Hyper PBS Pro or the Sacker Pro kit. Both seem to have lots more option parts than the regular kits, so which is better in terms of quality & durability? :)

Get the Hyper 7, loads more option parts, durable and well designed, another option for you - why not look out for a 2nd hand Kyosho Kanai 2 or Kanai 3, good buggy with all the features!

Good luck.

You could also get a Hong Nor there awesome.

Either the mbx5 of kysoho already memtioned would also do the job.

Just get one similar to guys at the local track that way you can shear parts

Heard that the Hong Nor buggies have bad quality? Anyway, the MBX5 kit looks real good...roughly how much would it cost? Found a LHS selling one for around $1200. Is that too expensive?

What that? The hong nor's are the best when it comes to quality.

With 1/8 buggies it is rear to break parts but they do wear out and require routine maintance and replacement. With the hong nor you will perform the same amount of maintance and replace items an least half of often. With out a doubt the hong nor is the best quality buggy.

But I think you will find that the mugen and kyosho buggies are slightly faster, at the tracks I race at the mugen is the current lap recorder holder.

I think a lot of this comes down to setup and driving. I don't think many people would find a difference between the three brands. Just pick the one you like and can get parts for. It is also handy to have the same as other guys at the track so you can compare setup and shear parts

$1200 sounds about right but I'm sure that you could find one for about $1000 as the prices seemed to have droped a lot in recent times. This may only be on the kyosho buggies but they have come down buy about $300 in the last few months.

overkill

Thats a reasonable prices but all the listed equipment comes in the kit except the tires.

to this you need a rear exhaust engine, pipe, header and 2 hi torque servos as well as a receiver and battery and most starter boxes aren't strong enough to turn over a new (tight) 21 size engine.

the mbx-5 is a high performance buggy and unless you are right at the top of competition it would be overkill. the sacker is an excellent car(its a ripoff of the kanai3 and some hop ups fit).

the money spent on the top line car would be better spent on a motor, tyres( buggies destroy tyres very quickly) and electrics.

hope this helps

Sounds like a good ideal to me or buy a good condition secondhand buggy with motor

You better tell us what hong nor buggy you believe is so great (the 9.5?) because the only one I seen in action was the Ultra and it was TOTAL CRAP.
