Servo's
 

I've just purchased a second car (Mi2) and I want to set it up as light as possible.

I'm going to buy a new servo, I want digital, but I was thinking about getting a mico servo (digital?), But not saying that is the way I will go. It will be used for touring car racing on asphalt.
I don't care if it will make my car under weight as I can add ballast if needed.

I'm still learning about things but any help would be appreciated.

What are good brands?
How much weight will I save?
Any one recommend a particular servo?
Ko Propo PDS-2343 Digital Servo or Ko Propo PDS-2123 Digital Servo, are these good servo's and why is one 7.2 volts ? will 7.2 volts cause any problems or concerns ?

the 2343 is great, and super quick

ive got a 2174 in my car at the moment and it works fine, i had an accident involving broken servo mounts and superglue which means my 2343 is still glued into my old chassis though ;)

go for the KO 2343
KO servos are the best in my opinion.
I want one of these but cant afford it yet!
with the other one needing 7.2 volts to run i think thats used for trucks or planes etc... KO 2343 are widely used in all touring cars. and this servo or the KO 2143 is on my next to buy list :)
KO 2143 is set and can not be programmed where as the 2343 can be programmed to be faster or slower. but max speed is .08 secs i believe which is set at default for 2143.

For electric tourer, if you are after lower weight, grab a futaba 9550, i think they are about 13 gras lighter than a full size servo, KO make sensational servos, but get any top line servo and it will serve you well.

I am currently running a MI2, i would not be too concerned about weight, while there are lighter cars out there, i still need to put some weight on the car even on rubber tires. And that is with running a full size Sanwa servo, and kit parts.

I'd recommend any of the KO range, analog or digital.

Atm i use a KO2173 in my B4 and i just bought a Futaba digital servo for my g/f's B4. I have never used Futaba before so we'll see what its like.
