Default Keilor Off Road Track Re-build!!!

Hey guys,

For those of you who dont know, the 2004 Victorian 1/10 Off Road Electric Titles will be held at the Keilor track on Oct 31st. The track in it's current state is in no shape to hold a major event of any sort, so we are doing a major face lift to the club by re-building the track.

From what i have heard we are doing the track re-build this weekend (Sat 15-16th May) Starts at 8am. We have all the heavy earth moving equipment etc... organised.
We have a professional track builder coming to sculpt the track and the layout looks AWESOME! We are using the dirt they use on the nationals motor cross tracks, it's a mix of clay and soil.
Bring a shovel and rake, many hands make light work (ALL WELCOME!!!)
If there is substantual rain it may be put off, but from the weather report we might only see a shower or two.

We hope to get back old members that dont race because the track is the way it is. It's actually sad when you have more members from the Keilor club going over to knox to race than turning up on their own club day.

It was getting to the stage where Stocks were doing faster times than Mods, you just couldn't put down the power.

The track has needed a re-build for a year now but we just haven't gotten around to it, but now it's happening. And we would love to see all of you racers in Victoria at Keilor on the 23rd for our first run on there.

The trakc hasn't changed one bit since the late 90's at all, thus why we need a re-build.
I cant remember the track builders name, but i do know that he ised to be the Victorian and Australian modified champ in off road, i think his first name was tim or something like that, tell me if it rings a bell.

Hi all.

Best of luck on the track resurface.

Is there a technical name for the dirt you are going to use for your track.

Also how is the surface in wet weather. ???

We are about to do ours. And are undecied on what to use.

Any help would be great..

I dont know the technical name for the dirt, i do know that they use it on the motor cross tracks they construct for a couple nights at the big stadiums for nationals events. We are getting it from the place where the dirt goes after it is used. If i get a tech name for it i'll let you know!!!

That would be great.

See if you can find out from your supplier if they know of anywhere in Sydney you can get it. ( Would be very helpful)

Also any ideas how it takes water. Our track you can soak and within 1/2 a day it's dry. Where some take weeks to dry.

Thanks again.
