Newb needs help with tyres/inserts
 

Hi guys,

Since i bought my forst car second hand i didnt have to put inserts in my tyres or glue them...

Today i received my new Pit Simizu tyres and inserts, my question is do you glue the insert to the rim or does it just sit in there? obviously ill be glueing the tyres to the rims, will superglue be suffcient..

The inserts just sit in there...just make sure the tyre and insert is all sitting correctly before gluing...

I forgot to ask, i just glue around the outside edge of the tyre/rim?...

Get the tyre seated on the rim correctly making sure you don't have high spots etc. Once everything looks OK, peel back the tyre slightly until you can see the bead and run some superglue in the channel that the bead sits in.

You won't need much 'cause it runs round the rim. I do this at 4 points round the rim on either side.

Each time you put the glue in, be sure to re-seat the bead of the tyre in the channel of the rim carefully.

There should also be a small hole in the rim to let the excess air out. Some rims already have these drilled, some don't.
