Default What Your Electric Motor Should Not Look Like!

One day at school i had an idea i can use the lathe to clean off the bit where the brushes rub!

Because it was very ruff!

So i took of 0.1mm and then all hell broke loose the little bit shot up must of been loose of stuffed to start with then the lathe shot it off 100miles dat way!
The bit was like a bit of paper so i gather it was very warn out in the first place!

So now im not very happy!

Does any one no if u can fix it or replace it!

Is out of a matrix v10 motor

Any help?

uuuummmmmmm yyyeaaahhhhh i dont think your schol lathes are set up to be accurate enough for that job mate, with a Comm lathe you would only take off a thousanth of an inch not 0.1mm, i would say the tip your using in the metal lathe was not sharp enough, and the speed was also probably too high.

Armature is ready for bin, go to your friendly LHS and Bend over.

Or, one could stick it in the car with 30 cells and get the same result - only more spectacularly!

(thanks Daf!)

Its unfortunate that v-10's are not roar legal as they are much better than monsters. Don't spend money on a motor that is illegal at most tracks unless you have plenty of money.

That is probably part of the reason that they are not ROAR legal, as they most likely do not fulfill a few of the requirements.

a good monster will snap any good matrix motor, they rev like hell but rpm x torqu = power, if you got no torque, doesnt matter how you gear them, they just dont go that special.
