Default How much should i spend on an engine?

I want to get a new engine for my serpent 705. I am currently running an os 12tr and at its peak the performanc was more than enough for me on most tracks. I rang CMC for a price in a .12 nova mega engine and was told they start at $500!!! Any one got any suggestions for a good .12 engine for around the $350 price.

I think base model RB .12 are about $350 or you could check with CMC for NovaMega pricing, both brands are good.

Sirio and STS D3 is well under $300 and can give any modified engine run for their money.

i just got a sts dragon 5 port sent out to me from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=34062

Just finished running it in and started to lean it off and it is a weapon, kills my rbx12 easy with only 15% nitro!

All up cost my $170aus shipped to my front door.

I also have a D5 and very happy with power. If you do get a D5, do follow the instructions in checking piston/sleeve before leaning out (ie remove plug and turn over part). This engine takes 2 Ltrs of fuel for break in and if you rush you may say hello to a busted crank.

Yeah, I've got a D5 too from rc-mushroom for $145... The engine is a real weapon... Give it a go, if you're after a 3 port, then go for the D3...

if you go to www.rcsquare.com you can get the Novarossi NS12 5 port turbo for US$245.00.(about $330 Aussie). That engine goes lightning fast and is a very good price for what it is. It usuall retails here between $450 and $500 Australian.

Definetly worth considering
