GT7 and LRP comp
I have a GT7, it works very awsome, I bought it from overseas, Its cheap and the GT7 has severals programs that you can choose (depends on ur driving style), so many things you can do, change the brake %, change the mode to stock motor, mod,etc
You will enjoy GT7 but I am not saying LRP pro is bad, LRP is very competitive speed control. I nearly bought LRP but at the end I bought GT7, even tough I am a TC3 driver

hey adz i would say the LRP would be the smaller one of the two.
hey you go:
Quantum Competition 2
Case Size: W28.7 x D25.7 x 14.4mm
Weight (excl. wires): 21.5g
&
GT 7 Electronic Speed Controller, no motor limit
Case Size: 1.37" x 1.11" x 0.66"
Weight: 0.93 ounce(w/o wires)
hope this helps
if you want to know more info i got these stastics from: www.rcmodel.com.hk

robitronic spirit +
these are a great little esc - the easiest of all to program + have a serial interface to hook up to the computer
i think many of the gt7's released smoke because people were not using a diode (or a cap i cant remember) and should have been, hence they are now installed from the factory and "dont" smoke anymore

For most applications go the LRP, they now have a decent supplier in Frontline hobbies and should be readily available and also provide a good support program, only thing i am a little concerned is the current handling capabilities of the Q2, but is only an issue running mod with 7 turn motors.

Well my Novak GT7's are from the 1st batch and still going. Novak have always been #1. KO is another good choice. But i'll admit i'm biased.
MOD: Novak, KO, or LURP
Stock... almost anything is ok.

Yay they released a dodgy product, it blew up, they upgraded it with better wire, it still blew up, they put a bigger cap on it, it still blew up, and finally they added the teabag, now they seem pretty good. It is not a real small unit in itself, once you add the barrell cap, and the teabag thinhgs get tight on a lot of chassis.

I would be very sacred to buy a Speedy right now. I have seen 5 KO's blow, have lost count as to how many Orange smoke screens I have seen and the LRP Comp2 shuts down every other run. Bu if size matters (to some people that's important) than go for the LRP.
It seems people have accepted that fact that if a Speedy is small than it's good. Why do you think they use to put Heat Sinks on ESC before.
I would go a LRP Version 7.1 if I was buying a new Brushed Speedy now.
Contact, your right....I had to check, but I just measured my KO and it's smaller that the Hacker
lol:
Coxy.
