DRIFTER?????
 

What do you guys think is a good drifter car? I used to drift and was a drifter for a while when I first started this hobby so I'm not new to it or anything. Some people say a TT-01 is all you need? What you guys think is a nice drifter car for me? Thanks

I'm a fan of the Tamiya Evo III although 4 and 5 are very good as well.

For a base one:
The TT-01 tamiyas and the E10 HPI are ok

next up is a Sprint 2 Drift like this

fully RTR with a 15t motor so decent speed. just need batteries.

up from there is things like Xray T2007/08, Tamiya TRF415 or evo's HPI Pro 4 etc..... If you have radio gear already i'd recommend one of these off rctech second hand. you get almost new carbon touring cars on here all the time for cheap.

i have a new 2007 corally RDX PHi with a new GTB/3.5R combo and spektrum receiver which i got for $440...... worth well over $1000 to buy new so i'd just keep a look out. otherwise go for the sprint 2 if thats more your price range. this is a great car for drift.

Google up Sydney RC Drifters and have a look around.

I've been to a few of their events, and from what I can tell, it's basically like any other form of on road racing, or racing in general. you get what you pay for.

There are a couple E10's but I have seen one literally fall apart on the track. TT's seem a little better built, but run hot. A good carbon and alloy chassis will see you enjoy it the most.

Balance is important, so if you run something like a TA05, make sure it's balanced side to side.

Personal experience shows that shaft drive gives snappier response.

Fully ball raced, 3 belt drive train, CVD Driveshafts more of an advanced Drifter compared to TT01 and E10's.

if you find one grab a sprint 2. I got one that i gave to a mate, locked both diffs and its easyer and nicer to drift then my trf 415 (although that has a front one way) If you set a sprint 2 up well there brillant to drift. ive owned 3 now lol

I would say depending on your budget, go for a good high end Race chassis. TC5, T2 Xray,E4, RDX, MI3 etc they make great drifters and also give you a great base to start racing too better build quality and more adjustable, Check the for sale section for used chassis as more than often you can find a great bargain, I'd also look for a used Novak GTB as they are a good sensored Brushless speedy with the option of reverse as well.
