Which servo???
looking at getting a new servo which is faster and has more torque than my current Futaba S3003
which one of these would be best to use?? S9350 S9402 S9450 S9451 S9550 |
You have not gave any info, what application etc (then someone may be able to help)
check out: http://futaba-rc.com/servos/futm0029.html http://futaba-rc.com/servos/futm0211.html I run KO Servos so dont have any info on how good any of those servos are :) |
woops, sorry, application info would help :)
I need a steering servo for 1:10 scale electric touring, currently a TA04, but soon to be a Xray or similar, I have been looking at the Futaba website the past hour or so, I can tell which one's are fastest and have the most torque but I need to know which one would be best? (if that makes sence) |
i don't run futaba servo's either, but i think the 9402 & 9550 are the best out of those... especially the 9550 if you have limited space on your chassis, since it's "low profile"
|
yea both look good,
S9402 0.1s/8kgcm S9550 0.11s/5.8kgcm but the S9402 is Analog and the S9550 is digital, and they are both the same price, what is the benefit of a digital servo?? |
Hey Rod,
First, definitely digital, get away from analogue asap. They are a LOT more precise and there aren't many 'good' analogue servos compared to digi these days anyway. For TC, the servo speed is far more critical than torque, aim for under 0.10/sec. Metal gears are a must also. Hope this helps :) |
mate go with the s9550. it is digital, coreless ( i don't know what it means but it's good:lol:  . i think it means it is more precise and centres more acurately)
they are half the size, not as heavy and very quick. 0.11sec at 6 volts 6kg/cm at 6 volts 40.5X21X25.4mm 45 grams metal gears |
The S9550 looks like the way to go but how about these two? (below)
they are both quicker, and are only about $10USD more KO Propo PDS-2343 0.08s/8kgcm Sanwa ERG-WRX 0.06s/8.1kgcm |
KO servos are good too. But Im using a 9402 still in my sexray, and its good. Im using KO digitals in my other sexray. Theres no differnce, anyone who tells you they can feel it is a tosser. Coreless, is the type of motor used, faster spool up times.

:D I just wanted to race tomas around the forum. :D
|
dude the S9451 is a great choice aswell, digital coreless, 0.10 sec, @ 8.7 Kg of toque, if certainly does the job in my nitro car, it should be sufficient for an electric!
|
go all out and get a ERG-WRX Sanwa/Airtronics servo. its the quickest servo you can buy and its a similar price to all those other servos. its metal gear to.
|
but sanwa tends to be a lil nasty in the quality department :sneaky:
|
sanwa is just rebadged airtronics
