I personally strip my car Sunday night straight after club racing. I give it a quick clean on the night and do a more thorough clean job over the next couple of nights. When I say strip I mean radio tray off engine out front and rear diffs out, The car is nice and open and makes it easy to clean all the pulleys and get into the hard places. Once a month ie: every 2 club days I clean the bearings in an ultra sonic cleaner and re-oil with a light bearing oil. This may seem over board but I think that you only get out of it what you put into it. It is very rare if ever that I have a failure on club day or at a titles event that can be attributed to maintenance that I have not done. You probably dont need to go to this extent but it works for me. Noel |
i clean me car every time i run it and once a month i clean my car thurely as well but at club races the only thing that stops me from finishing is the drivetrain. i run a Hotbodies D8. the CVD's in the car are open which allows the pin to fly out if the grub screw gets to loose and i end up losseing the entire assembly and have to rebuild this. i have tryed everything even superglue and red locktight at the same time i am looking for ways to stop this i have no problems with anything else.
thanks dane |
give blue lock-tight a go, once there in they stay in.. just don't use it for things you take apart a lot tho
