Thumbs up 2004 Club Challenge

As of March the 1st round of the club challenge will start. It will consist of 4 clubs that will host a round each. There will be a drivers pointscore and club pointscore that will be have trophies at the end of the year - trophies for the A final each round also. All clubs are welcome to participate to be the top club for 2004 - all are welcome.
The four hosts for this year are Northside. Lithgow, Castle Hill and Illawarra. Each event will be run by the same person similar to the old ROORDA tour concept.

For more details, a web site has been built that will have all entry forms rules and piontscores that will be updated regularly to keep all drivers and clubs up to date on whats going on. For more information go to:

Its' good to see club spirit but I'm sure that there are quite a few clubs out there who could have a very good chance of winning the series.

The whole idea of this challege is to get drivers to have a look at other tracks as well as to support the smaller clubs in the area so there also have a chance to grow. Most of the income will go to the clubs and with the support of other will help them grow as well. With idea that one person runs all event then we won't have problems on how the meeting will be run and so the clubs can concentrate on track and scrutineering so that entrants can have an enjoyable days racing. Most of the tracks are not far for people to travel hour to hour an a half in most cases, as many people have said to me you don't become a better driver if you don't travel and this challege gives you that advantage. The rules will be based on ARRCMCC. The class that we will run are Modified, stock (27-24), 540 and mini most of these class are run at club event and also add a little bit of fun into the day. We hope that it will supported by all club and a letter by email will go out to them in the near future. As there is no major sponsor of the series clubs can have there own sponsors for there events as there are many other companies that stand in the back ground and help clubs survive that know one ever finds out about. I hope drivers and clubs will support this challenge series and give it go.

I notice that Brush Farm isn't on your list, nor, as far as I am aware, has the club been approached.

That is correct, this year we are using only 4 clubs and then maybe next year we can look at more or a club from the group chosen for this year may drop out then if you are interested can join next year. Any club that wishes can compete in this series, it is not restricted to the clubs hosting.More details will follow and your club will receive information about the event so brush farm can compete as so all the other clubs that are in or out of the Sydney area.

So hows this work from a club/participant level. Each club picks its top 3 drivers from each class who want to compete ??

Can any driver enter to compete in the driver pointscore, regardless of whether they are part of the club team?

Can the team be changed between events, ie the club picks the top 3 drivers from each class who want to compete at the time of each event ??

Great concept by the way...

That would be the way it would go but a club can chose 12 drivers and each of those drivers will receive points on where they come in the races they participate in.
Yes, driver can enter and do not have to be in a team but do have to belong to a club.
The drivers have to be selected that are representing the club for that part of the competition before each event starts.

Hi All
Just for every ones information
the Lithgow Radio Control Car Club inc (LRCCC) have not long placed an official web page up
you can see pics of what we have acheived so far from here
www.lithgowrccarclub.com

We have just redesigned the track for this years new season
it is laid out well and marked with easy to see Yellow road paint
and the massive drivers stand is complete and is an approved permanent structure!
Come race your country Bros from the outer west from Dubbo,Mudgee,Orange,Katoomba,Springwood and sometimes Penrith.
running both Electric and Nitro
the there is two track designs in one where there is a long course (boasting a 65Mtr straight) and a shorter one.

Look forward to meeting you all
