does this reciever work with 40meg?

does this reciever work for 40 meg?

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/images/ko_kr301f.jpg

what i mean is are receivers "frequency specific"? or can they modulate any frequency crystal you put into it?

reason i ask is because the one in the pictures is the same as the one in my ep. yet the website says it's 26/27mhz. is this a case of just the wrong product picture used?

i need one before next sun.

there is also the above one for $20 more but if they both do the same job..i'd prefer the cheaper one. the above is 40mhz

Yes... RX & module are "band" specific, they are tuned for a
certain band eg 27Mhz, 29Mhz, 40Mhz.

(they are not picky enough to be "freq specific", otherwise you
can't change the freqs within the same band, can you now? :) )

Any band of same model RX they all look the same.

I too use various KO FM gear, now in both 27 and 40.

No they don't work when I swap the xtals wrongly, ie wrong
band of xtal not in its proper 27 or 40, RX or module.
They all gotta match up to work.

But no, feel free to test... I don't think it hurts the radio anyways
so there's no risk of damage. Just won't work until you match 'em.

(btw, I put stickers or texta the band onto the RX/module case.
Its damned easy to mix them when the spares usually don't have
xtals in them.)

Forgot to add... KO makes both 40Mhz *AND* 41Mhz.

For these, the freq is close enough for interchangeability.
I use them interchangeably and have no problems with range.

When buying another RX, make sure you note the band on your order! :D

ok cool thats what i wanted to know. i've tryed hunting down a 40mhz reciever...with no luck.

just a quick note does that super micro reciever (the second picture) work with the original mars? that reciever is a ex10 helios reciever.
by the way rcmodel sells it $30 more expensive compared to rcmart.com

Franky 01-11-2004 01:42 AM

if only 30 bucks different, i will buy the 302. since it is 30% smaller, and 30% faster.

the ko rx's are downwardly compatiable... ie: the 301 will work with the original mars and mars r and the 302 certanily works with the mars r as well as the helios, im pretty sure the 302 will work with the original mars, i had a look a helios manual and they have a compatiability chart and again im fairly certain the 302 will work with the original mars

the older rx's wont work with the newer tx's (the helios will work with either the 301 or 302 but is 'slower' with the 301)

note there will be no speed advantage by using the fast response rx's with 'slow' tx's

the helios can run in 'fast mode' which means the 301 can be used but not the 297

the helios has a switch (behind the TX module) allowing you to switch between HRS and Normal modes!

On normal it is obviously your normal response

On High - the helios has two HRS modes:

1st HRS mode - Super HRS same as the R (you need to set the radio to be in 3ch mode)
2nd HRS mode - Advance HRS 30% faster than R (you need to set the radio in 2ch mode)

unlike the 3PK, you can use STD anolog servos (just flick the swtich to Normal).

All with the same 302f rec :)

btw, in the Super HRS mode (same as the R), some, not all, KO anolog servos will work (dont have the manual so cant list which ones) but in advance HRS only digitals work.

Also in Advance HRS failsafe does NOT work.
failsafe will work in Normal and Super HRS.
