R/C in Melbourne?

R/C in Melbourne?
My wife and I are contemplating a transfer to Melbourne, I'd be working near Albert Park. Is there any R/C racing in Melbourne? I'm trying to gauge whether or not it would be worth bringing my stuff with me. Judging by the cost of things in Australia I feel it would be better to bring my stuff than try to purchase everything new once I'm there. Any thoughts? Is there weekly club racing near the city?

Well you don't say what type of racing you're into...
But going on your signature I'd reckon 1/8th scale off-road.
In which case MORRCC in Sunshine is your best bet.
About 20 mins out of the centre of the city.
This is their website

Yes there is racing in Melbourne. Judging by your sig you race off road.
There are 2 tracks close to Melbourne that race EP Off road.
The Knox Off road club/track is 20min drive from the City in the Eastern suburbs, Knox races on the first and third sunday of each month.
The Keilor Off road club race on the 2nd and 4th sunday of each month.
Keilor is 15minutes drive from the city, both of these clubs are EP only.
there is a Nitro club based at Sunshine, hopefully someone from their club can shed some light on their race days.
Hope this is of some assistance.
Mick.

Thanks Ray. I am still going through the interview process, but if it all works out we could be heading over as early as May. I've decided to only run electric if I move anywhere. Thanks again, hopefully the interviews go well and the compensation package work out because I'd really fancy living in Australia for a while. I spent a bit of time in Sydney back in 2005; I really enjoyed the mountain biking there and watching the Australia V8 Supercars at the speedway just outside Sydney.
