Okay, thanks for the help.

Another question: If I removed the shaft to the front wheels on a 4WD buggy, is it allowed to race?

(Yes, I know it won't be competitive but can I still go in and give it a go?)

If you want to know what are the popular classes at Ryde just check the results for various Saturday and Sunday meetings. http://www.sydneyrc.com/results.php

That's sickening, if I find them, the person that stole them will pay with blood.

Your kidding, bastards!

I'm heading to the track tomorrow morning about 9 o'clock if anyones keen to come along for a few laps, I'll be opening the power box.

Don't suppose you keen Roman? If so bring the laptop, would be great to do timed laps.

And yes, I have posted in all the local club threads in Sydney with off road tracks. I am asking about club specifics.

Thanks and happy new year.
Three things worth considering:

1) SCT is a growing class and at the bigger clubs like Maitland and Ryde it is a VERY competitive class, so you will learn to drive well a lot quicker than in 4WD, the only problem is that it isn't an officially sanctioned class yet so there are no state or national titles to be won.

2) If you want to learn to race in a sanctioned class then you can't go past 2WD buggy, it's fast and fun and will definitely teach you to drive well. The only problem is that it can be a little expensive if you want to be competitive in the Stock class as it's all about motors and batteries. But if you are good enough to start in mod then it can be relatively inexpensive because you can run any old motor and battery that gives you the speed you are comfortable with.

3) If you want to start in 4WD then there are much better options out there than the B44.1 for about the same money; you should seriously consider Durango, Tamiya, Schumacher and Kyosho for starters.

4WD Mod is not too popular on club days but Stock definitely is and it is also a very competitive class.

Hope this helps.

Sorry Sean, I just read your post, been busy doing the family visiting tours common to this time of the year.

Let me know for next time and I will bring the laptop, I need the practice.
Maybe even setup a few races for some fun.
