Just combined this:

with this:

and this:

The MT was $110 delivered, the radio was $30 delivered and the batteries are about $7 each delivered. The receivers for the radio are $10 each delivered! So I got a few.

So how does it all work? Brilliantly! The radio doesn't have many adjustments, just trim and dual rates, but this is for Jasper's basher so who cares. It has a range of at least 300m, couldn't go any further as I couldn't tell which way it was going at that distance. The steering and throttle feel better than my other AM/FM radios and it seems to be fairly well made. Makes you wonder how much it costs to make a Futaba if you can sell an acceptable radio for $15 with a receiver!

And the Mini LST2 is awesome fun, perfect little park basher.

I went today.....short answer is don't pack your gear! Ryde has a new pool at Blenheim Park and it doesn't look too inviting.

I dug out the drain, but it will take most of today to drain the amount of water that was there and then we will be left with a very big mud hole. If rains between now and lunchtime tomorrow I would say it is a no go. It would take the better part of two or three hours to get it ready and even then the forecast is for a heavy shower at lunchtime. I know they were wrong last weekend, but we are starting with a track that is already saturated.

If anybody else wants to have a go at clearing it, be my guest, but I think it may be a futile endeavour.

Oh noes!!!!

Nic, if you can, test that radio before you race with it.

The missus and I bought one each to travel to Norway with. For the price, if they got bounced, who cares. Also the CE approval was a bonus, though technically Norway isn't in the EU.

Janene's started randomly reversing when testing at home. She pulled it down, corrected a dodgy solder joint or two and removed the bonus screw that was stuck on the PCB It seemed fine. Mine seemed ok, but I only had it on to center trims and do a quick lap of the yard. Seemed ok too.

Sooo... The bad news.

When we got there, we went for a social with some of the NORCC guys before the comp. When both were turned on together (for the first time), they splattered each other. We turned her's off, mine seemed ok... not noticing it was rapidly switching between neutral and reverse which while we were discussing cheap radios, fried the reverse FETS in my ESC. Janene turned hers back on to have a drive, by which time the other guys had turned on, and Geir, Lars and Pers trucks all started glitching... Yep, this was screwing around with Spektrum radios. She turned off, their interference went away and stayed away.

Not all these radios might be faulty like the two we bought, but be mindful and test it with other radios on first....

Thanks for the advice, have tested with Futaba with no issues, will try Spektrum when I can get my hands on one, but as I said this is for bashers so won't get used for racing, so not such a big issue.
