He did until I beat him in the 2nd final

I had a hoot too, first offroad meet in 15+ years, thought I didn't do too badly either - need a bit more pace to keep up with Dave W but I didn't trouble the marshals all day & drove with decent consistency. Will definitely be back, with new tyres hopefully. Thanks for a great day, and letting me enter late

Does this mean that you won't be standing to be on the committee at the AGM?

Oh well. Must admit I always thought it was a boys club, with one woman.

Default Wanted 4wd

Anyone got a 4wd for sale?, doesn't matter if it's xxx4,b44 or I'd like a zx5
but needs to be cheap and have more traction than a BK2

So much for the rain on Sunday.

Was planning to join you guys (been ages since I've been down to Ryde) but kept telling myself that the heavens would open at a moment's notice.

Teaches me for believing the weather reports.

@vikingen - if you find yourself going through a truckload of EA3 front arms, try the graphite ones - they're close to bullet proof.

Hey Leo

Thomas was there with his RC10. I love that car. He was tearing it up, with worn out tires! The thing was wheelstanding out of the corners. I felt so lame for taking it easy through sections with my 4wd that he was fully ripping through with a 20 year old 2wd. So good!!!

There was plenty of grip on the track so it was a fast days racing.

Hope to see you on Sunday

Yea you can see why rc10's were so popular back in the day, they're so easy to drive fast.

I was surprised too that it wasn't raining when I woke up on sunday, and even more surprised when the sun came out for most of the day.

Ant,

What car were you driving? I was so caught up in my own driving I didn't even know I got third let along who else was racing. I was mostly concerned with not braking a shock tower as theyt cost me about me about $90 for the pair! Think I'll take Thomas' advice and make some myself.

I was driving a 2wd and 4wd Cat SX, in the modern day modified class. The car is a handful in 2wd, but still easily drivable, 2 sec a lap slower I think.

Yeah this is the place I got my carbon fibre from seems like pretty good value for the size. Haven't broken anything made with this stuff yet!

I'm confused, I want a 4wd drive, do I
1/ buy a cheap 2nd hand rtr kyosho zx5. Approx $150 AU
2/ buy a more expensive 2nd hand zx5 sp, xxx4, b44. Approx $200AU
3/ buy a brand new Yokomo B-Max, $200us + delivery
4/ buy a brand new HPI Cyber 10B, $200us + delivery
5/ buy a brand new Kyosho zx5 sp, $300us + delivery.
What do people reckon, given the issue with parts (I'm going to need them) and toughness, performance,
I know the Tamiya Durga is good but I'm not sure if I could buy a Tamiya that wasn't vintage
