Guys there is NO WORKING BEE, I am just going to be there from 3-5pm to do some cleaning up to get the track ready for Sunday, if you can lend a hand then great, but this is not a "working bee."

Go to about 30:05 if you don't want to watch the whole show, although I would highly recommend you do watch the whole thing.

Johnny, Bobcat and I did some maintenance at the track today, we got rid of most of the deep silt and a fair amount of the loose sand on the surface but it is still very loose and slippery. Actually to be fair Bobcat and Johnny did most of the work as Bobcat was there from 1pm and I didn't get there till 3:30pm. Johnny also gave the whole track a water but it would be good if somebody could get there tomorrow and give it a blow job and a watering; I reckon a blower would do a better job than the broom because the areas that need the most work are still a bit damp.

Anyway, it's a damn sight better than before.

Default 1.21 gigawatts

Since i couldnt decide on a 4WD buggy to buy, i thought i blow the dust off & repair my old xx4WCE that i bought ages ago while in the US.
I managed to purchase a bunch of donor cars & parts from Roman and was able to build a buggy to race and a "pretty" one for the shelf..

I completely stripped the drive train and replaced all the belts and pulleys. Interestingly the old belts had turned to a fibrous white dusty material in some places (as opposed to a deep green plastic!)
All the bearings came out and were cleaned. MIP CVD's added to the rear as well as XXXCR hubs and arms. Managed to source a scarce Trinity alum motor mount and had to o a lot of tapping as many of the old plastic threads in the chassis and other parts had stripped.
Full rebuild on the shocks, then added electrics.

Runs a Tekin RS Pro and Novak 7.5and a quickie hitec servo. I will be stoked if i finish a couple of runs on sunday with the old thing! Test ran a full pack in the underground parking lot and it seems to be ok. Will wait to see how it likes the dirt!
