Congratulations to all the Ryde drivers who attended the Maitland CS yesterday, in particular to Grant Robinson for his well deserved 2nd place podium in 2wd stock buggy.

Forgot to mention Robert Reed's 3rd place in stadium truck.

Alex Richardson, Cooper Richardson, and Robert Reed were elsewhere for the photo. Sorry guys.

We are still trialing different tyres on the new surface and don't want to commit to a tyre too soon as track conditions will change as winter and moisture sets in.

JConcepts will be the control tyre manufacturer courtesy of Ace Hobby Distributors Australia.

At this stage we are looking at JConcepts 3D's and Bar Codes. Blue compound is favored so far but I'm looking at green compound as well.

We'll make a final announcement in the near future.

Tyre wear on the new surface is very low, new tyres still look new after a couple of runs, unless you spin your tyres on the ag pipe of course.

Look forward to seeing you at Ryde in September.
Thanks for the replies guys. Hopefully I'll get there.

Thanks for the kind words.

I personally believe that we're all in this hobby together enjoying time away from other aspects of life and that we should all encourage each other whether we are from the same club or not.

We're all part of a global group of people who love building and racing RC cars.

I'm excited for racing Saturday. I just hope the weather and forecast changes for the better.

If it is too wet to race is anyone keen for some track maintenance Saturday or Sunday

Good idea Chris, hopefully a few people will be available as the committee has been talking about doing some clean up and maintenance.
We can definitely use your motocross racing track knowledge.

Default Trackwork, This saturday 4th June from 12pm

Thanks for the offer to help with the trackwork Chris.
With that said, Im going to be at the track from 12pm this saturday for trackwork, with sat night racing from 5pm onward.
Trackwork will involve sculptung the jumps so they are more consistant and compacting using the clubs compactor as the track should be at a good moisture content at the moment to compact.
This will all be pending how wet the track is, i will check the track at 6am sat morning after i finish nightshift and let you all know if trackwork is still on.
Many hands make light work, pls give a hand if you are available.

Cheers,
Grant M.

Quick question for you guys.
How far away is a decision on tyres for state titles?
Will we know before the club series round?

Hoping to use the round as practice and setup for states, so wouldn't mind running whatever the tyres will be.

Default Trackwork Cancelled

A heap of rain has fallen overnight, and much more is predicted to come. Trackwork for today has been cancelled due to the track being way too wet.

Regarding control tyres for state titles, we are leaning toward jconcepts 3d's in blue compound, however want to do a bit more testing on different track conditions to confirm, yes we will have a tyre decision prior to our Ryde club series round on July 31st so you can use the nominated tyre.

Cheers,

Appreciate your reply, thanks.
What about 4WD fronts?
I don't believe they do 3D's for them.
