Yeah, i guess that does sound like "being a dick" haha. O well we all make mistakes? Their was nothing to lose by asking... Sorry guys I only thought that the polarity effected the esc ( i guess i was wrong) also i ran for about 3 mins, after i replaced the esc, and it was going well. Then suddenly started to smoke...

OMG23RC, I dont like your chances of getting new gear in this case mate. Reverse connecting a battery is the ultimate fatal error in electric RC. Everything that is connected is open to the batteries current and sending the current through in reverse is instantly damaging for all connected gear.
Consider yourself lucky that the lipo didn't go. At worst it could have caught fire and at best it would stink your place out like chemicals for eternity. Someones lipo went up in smoke at the track about 3 months ago and I can still smell the chems near that part of the track - and thats outside - after months of weather and rain.

Good lesson learned - and if you look at the loss as $200 vs your folks place, I think you came off on top.

Even if Dennis was willing to give you a new motor, you know it would just be taking advantage of his willingness to help a young RC enthusiast.

Stick with it and be more careful. You cant learn without making mistakes.

It is neither. It's a class on its own. Just needs no timing software.

Ahh k. I just got my exam results backs few days ago and I went really well so my parents said that they would get me a new esc (also because my mum hates me going on the computer) so I got the tekin rs (non pro) but was just wondering if I would of been better off getting the lrp sxx v2. I am very happy with my tekin though. Lots of adjustability. Also I soldered on deans connecters so I don't blow this one.
