No need to apologize Roman, we all have lives to live outside of the club, I doubt I will have time to post it this weekend so take your time mate.

Default question

Hi, I have a question for the commitee. Can the power be left open for non club day? So lets say this weekend if someone wants to go for a run and brought in his or her own charger. Can you use the power box?

Umm... not really our call.
The council would have us for breakfast if they found out we left the power on and available to the public.

+1 We don't own the track or facilities so we have to abide by their rules and we also pay for the power used, so if somebody decided to tap into our power (such as the backpackers who were living in the park for a while) we would be royally screwed.

However if you want to practice on Sunday, I will be there from 8:30 till about 1pm and I could put the power on for you.

Had a few runs with the Square fuzzeies M3 today.
They are excellent for about 15mins and then all the knobs start falling off in the middle and traction is lost.
I guess they are best kept for important races only.

Also, Im going back to sticks so my EX5UR is going up for sale.
comes with 2 receivers - used for 2 race meets. pm if interested

Ill put it on the for sale forum next week. Just wondered if any ryde drivers wanted it first.
Sticks, won't let you down, think I'm the only one in the club that use them to date!

Yep , i see your point Steve.
I just can't use sticks now that i've used a wheel for so long.

Is that the reason that well over 90% of racers in the UK use sticks ???

Steve is going back to the UK for around 2 years after being in Oz for 12.
He will be racing here. . . http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96519

Leaving Monday the 9th of this month, just over a week.

We will miss you Steve.

what sticks are you other stickies using? There aren't many good systems out there for cars anymore eh. I managed to find a 3GR on the wanted to buy forum which Im absolutely loving. Finally ran some decent laps today.

They all seam to be Air Transmitters which have an unsuitable throttle stick and about 8 channels too many for cars.

You are right Dave, for some reason they don't make a dedicated RC Car stick transmitter.

Steve might know what the best sticks for cars are.
What are you using Steve ?

For those that don't know, Steve ( old_skoolie ) started this thread almost 3 years ago.

He used to race regularly at Ryde and was on the committee, until around 1.5 years ago when he decided to give on-road at SMA a go.

I too run the 3gr, I ran the core rc stick radio for a while, cheap but decent and very compact in hand, I've also used a hitek pro car set which I used to dismantle to component level at the track on a regular bassis
KO propo,,, too much money,
futaba 3vcs is the next up from 3GR
also Sanwa gemini2 is like the 3GR
all I can say is

GIVE EM STICK
P.s I'll miss all my racing buddies at Ryde and SMA.
Just remember Ryde pride is for life, not just for Christmas
