Questions?? traxxas slash 17.5???

Hi guys just want to know if anyone has tried a 17.5 in a slash and how it compares to a standard titan motor for speed & power??

Thanks Nick

We run the 17.5 motors at Knox against the 550 and the main difference is you can gear the 17.5 right up for a lot more top speed. At present mine is geared with 31 tooth pinion and 83 tooth spur, after six minutes of racing its barely warm. If you leave them geared the same the performance is very similar.

Hi true believers.

I would like to make an announcement that Vice President, Sean Chapple will be doing some track work tomorrow, Friday 19th of June from 2pm onwards.

As i am working a late shift i cannot attend, but it would be great if a few people could lend Sean a hand.

Sean has done a lot of work on his own lately and it would be nice to show him that he is appreciated, oh. . and to help build a great track for all to enjoy too.

Roman.

I ran a 17.5 in mine for 1 meeting, it worked well, I just didn't have it geared up enough. I could only fit a 29 to the original 86 spur so you'll definitely want to invest in a 83 spur or smaller. The 17.5 is a torquie motor and is very controllable like the titan, just alot more reliable and less hassle

And probably more efficient.

My 13.5 takes around the same from the battery as the Titan did.

No racing on Saturday but Sean Chapple and Shane Edwards were hard at work improving the track and adding extra drainage channels.
I did some shovel work but these two men were like Terminators continuing to work regardless of the pouring rain !

I heard that on Friday arvo Sean had help from Antony Geerno (Ant), Justin Page (Peli), Dave Ryan (blue hornet), John (littlejohn), Brendan Speechley (Brenos), as well as a couple of others.

Thank you to all that helped with the track.

Send me a PM if you helped and i left you off the above list so you can be known, recognition is not why we help but i think it is good to be appreciated for the work you do.

Hey All

I was in Brisbane and the Gold Coast last week and visited one of the local hobby shops called RC Hobbies Gold Coast ph 07 5594 7900

Simon the owner is a fellow slash racer and event organiser/track owner.

He had a section on the shop wall dedicated to traxxas slash spares and option parts!

The track they race at looks awesome here are some links, Im going to plan my next visit to include a race meet
