The intention is to keep the cars as box stock as possible. However, this is a new class and the rules will obviously need to evolve over time, but I think we would we would all like to start with a level playing field and see how things progress from there. If it turns out that a 27 turn stock motor offers no advantage then I'm sure we can all come to some agreement, but let's see how the first few meetings go before we start discussing rule changes.

Also, this was meant to be a fun class where everybody is using the same equipment so that it isn't just a battle of credit cards. Let's try and keep it that way, as soon as you start using different motors you ruin the level playing field. Maybe, if the Titans do keep failing, we could all run Mabuchi 540's and gear the crap out of them! But seriously I can see there is an issue with these motors but let's just see how it plays out.

Other people have also been asking about running different classes of Slash, in my opinion this is just going to prove impractical. We are already running at least 6 classes each week, on occassion with just 2 or 3 cars running in a class, and we are now offering another class. On those days where we get a big turn-out we are lucky if we can finish before 4:30 as it is. If everything runs smoothly (all day!) each class takes about 30mins to run 3 heats and 1 final and that is based on everybody getting to the drivers stand on time and marshals being ready. But lets be realistic and say that each race takes 8 minutes to run and that we run 7 classes with at least two groups each for 2wd stock and 4wd stock, that's 9 races per round or 72 minutes. That's over 5 hours including 30mins for lunch and we would be finishing at around 4pm. Not so bad in summer but not in winter. And to add to the time some of us would like to see stock and mod finals moving to 10 minutes in the near future which would really stuff things up.

Obviously these are my opinions, not the clubs, and nothing is set in stone yet with this class so let's just see how it goes initially and talk about the issues at the track so all opinions can be heard.

Hey Roman, we should probably start thinking about ordering ours soon! Should have done it on Monday when the the dollar was at 74 cents, but lets just watch what happens over the next week or so.

No need... Apparently that shop in Victoria road near the train tracks has them for $379.... Best check first, 2nd hand info...

I'm all ready to roll... I have my 29FM radio in, and heading out with another new starter for the class tomorrow for some practice.

Sorry, was thinking of the North Ryde guys when I posted.

Can't remember the name of the shop, but it's in Rydalmere, 234 (?) Victoria road....

And here is a picture from before the shop was there.

Oh, in regards to the life span of the Titan motors, I have been doing some research.

Apparently they have a tight air gap, and if you don't keep them clean they jam up. Blokes who clean them out say they last for ever, it seems.

So, a stocking toe over the motor will be a good idea.

Yep, you're probably right, at the current exchange rate it works out to about $355 including delivery.

That would be

Me.

Umm... 15C, that's like 30 amps on tap.

The stock ESC is rated at 60, maybe they've over spec'd it, or that is what it can spike to. I guess we wait to see what other guys have found out.

hello mate......ryde is a awesome track for slash racing, bit more grip than castle hill, but u dont need as much throttle control.....no dust

love the carpet dipper on the back straight, with the slash u can jump over the dip and land on the top section, but its probably cutting the track........

will have to go do some hotlaps for practise soon.....
