does anyone know what the rules of 4x4 would be... i hope its open... ill unleash my 4800 medusa on 3s hahahah fun fun fun

im pretty sure from the discussions a few of us have had that Pro 4 will end up open motor, but with SCT parts(tyres,wheels,)...not too sure on the battery Chris, probably will end up at 2 cell cause then we can use existing race packs and such

i nearly sold my MM 5700 combo,not now,its found a new home,in a Ofna Hyper 10SC eventually

man im spewing medusa stopped making rc motors.. it has been the most reliable, most powerfull motor i have been able to run in these trucks bashing and gearing how i want and taking heat... i need a 2nd one, one for the 4x4 and one for the 2wd. i think im just gonna run a 1/8th motor in the 4x4 and 3/4s lipos.
the MMPro will do all i need.

But rules are rules I guess, thing is when I told some Ryde members last week that I'll just buy a new HW ESC, noone said not to bother with them since they'll be outlawed (not that I blame them or anything). Also so many ppl last week were running the HW systems, maybe there should be a HW 13t SCT class lol.
The rules was always for 13.5 minimum motors. We allowed the HW to run last year for various reasons but they were never adopted in the rules. When I was approached by anyone with that motor last year I told them the same thing, they are not currently legal but we will let you run them until further notice. We did specify them in the 13.5 class for the SC championship.

There is a lot more to it that meets the eye, just because its a 380 based motor does not mean you can compare it to your old grasshopper equivalent, it depends on the rotor size, gap, length and type of wind. KV at no load means nothing. We are not comparing apples with apples here.
I requested a spec from HW and I never got a response, this make it hard to set a specification when the manufacturer can change it at will changing the stakes.

The SC rules are up for discussion by committee this week and there will be a new set of rules up on the website once this is signed off.

Cheers
Shane

Even if you have a stock motor (ie 17.5 brushless) lying around just use that.... if its a decent one. I used one on the weekend and it kept up... and it was geared pretty easy... sure you wipe off a bit of top end compared to the 13.5 but it gets you by for the meet and is a tonne of fun!

I want to know is why did EVERYONE with a camera, with the exception of one guy with a phone take photos from the back?

Why bother wasting the 5 minutes?

Exclamation 4WD CORR (Pro4)

I am making an open appeal to the committee here.

Please, when you set the regulations for 4WD CORR, please allow the use of 1/8th buggy wheels and tyres.

The reasoning behind this plea is that from attempting to drive my bone stock SLash 4x4 at the last meeting is that in my opinion out of the box they have too much power for "SC" tyres. The stock tyres are hard enough to hold their shape under acceleration, but yield little grip. "Proper" SC tyres (I was running Goosebumps) expand and bloat like drag tyres under the power a stock Slash 4x4 puts out on a 2S lipo. This causes the truck to become erratic and very unstable, and I do not believe there will be much "on the edge" racing due to the tyre problem and will not be as popular as the current "Pro2" 13.5 class we have.

I have copied your post so it can be discussed at the committee meeting tomorow night
also I do believe the current rules were agreed on by a group of SC drivers so the precedence is there
