The Xpress Mini Thread

I just thought that i'd start a thread for all us Xpress mini owners to discuss the car, setups etc, since there is a thread for the tamiya mini.;)
I may as well start with mine.:)
It's a xpress mini pro chassis, with 3000 kv year racing brushless system and 4200 ferral lipo batteries.
I'm running TRF short springs to get the ride height down to around 5mm.
Only other non standard parts are a set of 6mm alloy hex wheel drives and aluminium servo mounts from tamiya.
Running my used foams from my nitro cut down to 55mm atm.
first time out with a 44.83mm roll out at whalan, the car handled pretty well to start and was quite a bit quicker than i was expecting!
Still, with a bit of fine tuning of the set up, i think that i will be able to get quuite a bit more lap speed out of her!
Also looks good with the old school Datsun 1200 on top!:D
Here are some pics of my car to check out!:)

xpress mini

car looks great, i think a few guys from windsor run these.
hopefully there will be some interest in this class as i think it would be a
fairly cheap fun class to race in.:)

As Rob said Tomas, Mr Fisher will hook you up with all that is needed!

I also finished fitting the connectors to car and batteries and found that the car is well balanced with the 4200 lipo and comes in at a Porky 1141g!:weird::D
A pocket rocket, but would only fit into cargo pants pockets!;):D:lol:

Will you be getting one of these too?
By the looks of your avatar pic, i would guess that you would go for the Datsun 1600 body!;)

would love to get one, it depends on which clubs may have a class for them.

There will be one more xpress mini at our club at whalan in the next couple of weeks and if we 3-4 cars minimum we get our own heat!:D
Whalan is an awsome track to run these cars, so bring "em down!!!;)
Also, i believe that Windsor runs the Mini Xpress class when enough of them roll up.:)

For an extra 80 dollars more than the $120 for the junior kit, on the pro you get aluminium everything including ball diffs and carbon top & bottom chassis plates etc, which don't need any hopp ups added!:)
The pro kit would be the best bet straight out of the box!;)

Nothing wrong with the junior kit. I have a few of both kits. I prefur the junior over the pro its got direct steering, you have to buy a belt tensioner for both kits. Both kits come with ball diffs.

I suppose it depends on what you want, Junior-ZING, Pro-BLING and ZING :)

lolleskates 11-04-2008 02:27 PM
