Default 12th scale racing in brisbane

Hey guys just wondering how many people would be interested in running 12th scale cars at tracks such as meakin park and brendale.Im thinking something like a controled class to make racing very close maybe brushless motors or a mod limit 4 cell.I can get the AE 12th for about 230 aus so its not to dear to start and a novak brushless is on special at rc models for 395.Could be fun

Oh yes. I have been dying to get a 1/12 for ages now, and haven't bothered because there's nowhere that races them around here (Bris) at the moment.

Brushless could be a little crazy in a 1/12 though? Or am I just being a wimp?

I may not be one of the first to come and join you, but if a class gets going I'll most likely buy me a chassis and come along.

There are heaps of people with 1/12th cars in Brisbane but no racing as you say.

The popular move around the world and Aust seems to be 4 cell modified - limited mod 4 cell might be the way to go.

If you could get it off the ground it would be great,BUT?
Sorry for raining on your parade but where would we run?
New bayside track=wrong surface at the moment.
Yeronga= no traction compounds+ 6mm ride height.
Your home club =full fields allready, turning people away.
Add another class and people will be getting home after midnight.
Brendale...depends on people?. It could happen...!
Thanks again for the swap, back racing at Brisbane Dirt racing with the b4.
Just brilliant, what a great bunch of people......

Wynum was an outdoor concrete track which has recently been bulldozed and a new track is being built. Gret people and great racing there, miss the old place

A big Pommy hello to Shane, Leon, Heavy, Terry, Mark, Jeff, Steve and all the rest of the Brissie gang

The only carpet track I know of in the area is Yeronga, only raced there once but it seemed ideal for 1/12 scale.

I've been running my 1/12 in whatever class I can get into here in Canberra while waiting for some others to get one. Don't bother with brushless motors, I just trued and relaced the brushes on the 13x3 I'm running after 6 meetings and the serrations had just worn off the brushes. With 4 cells, a motor will literally last years...

PS - Setting up a car to work without traction compound isn't easy, but, it can be done...

Sounds like we may get this off the ground yet also some guys have been talking stock 6 cell so we will have to see whats more popular.Only have one brushless left at the moment have to see how the maxx goes on one.

Over here in the UK 4 cell mod and 6 cell stock classes just run together at national level. The performance difference is negligable but the 4 cell cars handle a bit better. You will get a better turn out for the class if you dont put too many rules in there, I would say run 4 cell mod or brushless and 6 cell stock all together I don't think you will have any problems.
