Oh okies adz, thanks

Yeha i use the trf blue ones ...aluminium

Yeah i used to use the 300m and then the stratus 2.0 and even between those it had a massive difference. the 300m was very stable and the stratus gave more steering.

After racing last night in mod i found that the car was fast and handling was mostly good, except the car got unstable very easily and you could not recover without spinning.
I know that im still learning to drive a mod and occasionally punch the power on too quick and lose it, It's a stock habbit but sometimes it loses it even if im not accelerating.
Would that be the body only? or can i fix it with oil?

thanks

you could fix it with a a rebuild.. its obiously a geomitry issue.

something is tweaked or out of ballence camber ect ect ect// final word.. rebuild your car..

90%+ cases of unstable cars is tyre related (eg. wrong compound or rubber not glued to rim properly) or if not tyres then something touching/binding (eg. chassis touching ground, crook wheel bearing etc). Check for the obvious before chasing shock settings.

Default Ride height

is as low as possible better & why or why not
also should the height be adjusted with the screws in the
control arms or just by the sring adjuster
thanks all this is helping

Painy Im pretty sure the geometry is all good but ill check again.
The car was just very or too responsive to turning....Just like your car painy!! too agressive like you said...? maybe its da body

Yeah i think it could be tires as well, I think i cooked them.
Castle hill last friday was quite warm, i didn't even need a jumper let alone a big ski jacket.
At the start of da race the car had good grip and handled well...but towards the 3/4 trough the car started to slide abit then it would spin when usually it would not (even with no power).
I was using sorex 24's...i have some 28's so i might try them...may need to use tire warmers?? dunno,...

Also wouldnt mod let the tire overheat quicker since its faster?
I might be safe in stock with 24s

Hemi adjust the ride height with you shock collars and se the droop to suit the spring length....get the right height fully equipped then when fully extended the shock the spring should not dangle but should be slightly preloaded. make sure its even...

Make the car lower for high grip tracks and when you stiffen up the shocks and higher ride height for low grip soft suspension...its so you don't bottom out and it allowes more rolling.

thanks pplz

Hey 414,
there is no way 24's will work in mod this time of year, and yes
if youv'e cooked them they probably on the way to the farm.
I'm starting to contamplate using 32's as i managed to slightly
cook up my 28's last friday.
I will probably find that 32's will work in the first race and later
on as it starts to cool down then go to 28's.
And if you notice during a race that they are starting to cook up,
lighten up your driving (less agressive) and they should last you longer.
I find that if you've cooked at set of rubbers once or twice you
will notice a considerable loss of grip out of them.

The only reason i mentioned the 32's is after experienceing
last years summer at the hill and if todays anything to judge by
this summer will be a corker.
It's also good to have them on hand just incase of those stupid
hot afternoons that just don't cool down into the night!
28's should be fine in stock.

Don't worry about life adz just keep racing and one day you might even lap yourself aswell

Ehehe i opened my diff the the balls had actually broken its little barrier on the pulley and cut right into the next ball's barrier.
Lucky i had the pulley from the one way....bugger though

blaming the car should always be the last resort and this comes from someone with incredibly heavy handed repair techniques
