Bad Day Thread!!!
has anybody here had a really bad RC day they would like to mention for example : i broke a chassis and oneway all in one day etc
|
Yeah my worst day was probably the last day and finals at the ACT Titles 2 weeks ago. Had a great car and was driving ok. Unfortuently my head wasnt right. In a hurry ended up running max wheelbase on one side of the car and min on the other. Then got interference in 2 finals, pulling off in one and smashing the car in the other. Cause-flat transmitter batteries!
Ive never done these things before in 6 years of racing. theres always a first time I guess! |
How about breaking the car during scrutineering:weird:  :weird:
day just got worse after that |
How about this:
picking transmitter up off pit table, just after putting new batteries in, and forgetting to put the cover on- out flys the battery tray, ripping the wires out with it. Day was over then. |
Ouch that is bad lol

Did someone say
"How about breaking the car during scrutineering " Well i was the Chief scrutineer at 2000 Victorian State Gas Titles, when i got a hold of Rob Reeds nitro tourer. Well it passed all its checks except the drop test. Yes I ACCIDENTLY dropped his car. Lets just say there might have been a slight tweek in it, he wasnt too impressed. Now I wonder why I have been blackbanned from Novarossi:D |
BATTERY DISAPPEARANCE
Raced well all night, was first on the grid for the A final, led the first three laps, and coming out of the sweep i noticed my wheel come off, to my surprise it was my battery, i forgot to put the clip on,. and to make it worse i scraped it all the way for those two laps and cut the cell in half, the battery was brand new that day, i just stuffed up a $200 Phantom pack, now it has a cell on it that isn't as closely matched and it just isn't the same.
I also lit my lighter once over a barrel on morteon island and it was 1/4 full of fuel, it blew all my hair off the front, no eye lashes, no eye brows, and my mates and i had saved all up to go and meet chciks, well you know who didn't get any then lol. regards brad p |
Put the car (V-OneS) on the track for warmup, did 2 laps and the conrod snapped half way down the straight. Packed up went home and back to bed :(

Got another one from My nitro tourer days
practicing with 2 days before a major local meet... snapped the conrod... over-nighted the parts... tried running the motor in during practice the next day, only to find that in the haste of trying to rebuild a motor in about 20 minutes that I had the piston in the wrong way around... finally ran the motor in during the qualifying rounds... only managed to run ONE round of qualifying at full pace... STILL managed TQ... but failed in the final because of fuel pickup problems Nitro tourers were never as much fun for Me after that :flaming: :weird: :flaming: :weird: :flaming: |
My worst day was when I had just bought a 2nd hand MTX-3 with a JP S1 and went for my first club meet with it and shattered the piston. And because I was gunna use the same engine for the Oz titles coming up it just made my day worse:cry:

My bad day was probably a few months ago...when i was competing in a round where i was qualifying for a trophy in my class for winter season. Banged the car up pretty bad....came off. and i must of forced the antenna and snapped it straight off. :( Thankfully i have got some good racing mates that can help me out
Although i remember not happening to me thankfully, a mate was practising around the track and pulled off...when walking down to get his car some marshall decided to place the car in the middle of the track...another car came full speed behind it and broke the chassis right in half... think it was a HPI chassis :( Spectator saw the crash and said that the HPI flew about 1 m in the air straight up and crashing to the floor with two halves of the chassis plus the hub carier still attached to the wheel was rolling around somewhere. OH Dear :( |
Ill say it with photos.. (T-bone damage)

Worst part - spare exhaust and drive shaft in my hands ready to replace.....spare fuel tank...... at home...... (some 130km away)   |
